Your “second drain plug” is the oil screen cover. Pry that metal plate off and it will drop out

That is a Bay Window VW bus motor judging from the location of the dip stick tube. Not a 914 engine, but still a Type 4 engine. Bus engines had lower compression pistons and a mild camshaft profiled for torque. The engine serial number on Porsche Type 4 engines is on the top of the block above cylinder #3 near the center of the case for 1.7 and 1.8 motors. On the 2.0 Porsche motors, the engine number is near the base of the oil filler chimney area.

I had a 914 4 cylinder....type 4 engine is VW used for Porsche.

Watching this video reminds me of how much I learned rebuilding my 914. I know Ian's videos certainly helped me and there are others. I'd recommend 914world.com for knowledge/help and 914rubber.com for a lot of your parts.
