Hi Arthur, magnets are not the best way to test out chrome as these parts are usually manufactured to be not ferromagnetic. We have an updated chrome polishing method where all that needs to be differentiated is matte finishing or reflective finishing. It can also be done with an electric powered rotary and a (at least) 3" backing plate + wool. By hand, possible, if the stains are very mild.

I used Mothers Mag and Aluminum cleaner by hand on the trim, works perfect by hand to very quickly it looks clean, just also use masking tape so it doesn’t affect the paint or window

Will this method work on acid stained chrome trim. My car's trim was cleaned with acid and they left it on to long. We your system help me.

Hey Joe, if the watermark isn't that bad, yes possible. If it's bad, don't bother, send it to a professional, not worth breaking your arm for.

If it's matte, you can still polish it to remove the waterstains. However over polishing it will make it glossy and ruin the finish of it being matte.

Hi LJJSA, For anodized trim, since it's very thin and mostly matte, I don't suggest polishing with this method.

Hey there, to prevent watermark, we recommend not allowing water to dry on the surface. So regular weekly washes will help. Application of metal coating would also help to stall watermark from formation.
