The fact that he actually gave an alternative to his spray wax shows what a guy he is. Hard to come by in todays market, but don't get it twisted, any good enterpenuer doesn't need to bend over backwards to make you buy his product. Thats how its done.
what a guy. not only does he take the time to make amazing ( best I've seen by far ) but doesn't try to sell his stuff and tries to save us money. Awesome work mate and ill be only using your products from now on. I think you genuinely deserve everyone's support. Thanks again for the expert advice my cars never looked better !
What wins me over to this guy's videos is he's open about his opinions. He remains mostly neutral and even says that he's not interested in competing with the Big Guys like Sonax or Meguiars. I still do follow his advice on washing and drying cars and it helps a lot. His videos and tips are definitely worth the time/effort.
Thanks guys for your support. If you do anything in the public eye, you (meaning me) are going to get "haters". Its cool. Nothing we can do about it. Believe me, all I'm trying to do is help. Its fun to shoot videos and talk about cars. If some of my videos are more helpful than others, then I apologize...but they are free to watch and that guy is welcome to click the "stop" button anytime and go else where. Most people who dislike a video simply go on to another vid. Thx to my supporters!
Your openness when it comes to your Ammo products and other products makes me respect you a lot. The honesty reflects back on your your work and product. I'll definitely be shopping your stuff when it comes time to buy again.
Ok...everybody keep it clean. (pun intended) This is a friendly, helpful place...Some younger kids are reading this. Lets all be cool. Thx again for everyone support. -L
Your honesty goes a long way. The fact that you don't treat people like idiots to sell your products just earned you a customer. I will be buying some of your stuff on principle alone. Keep up the good work!
I will now be buying AMMO products purely based on the fact that you provide detailed information and do these videos... Along with the fact that you seem to be an honest, zero bull, kind of guy which is awesome.
Practice on scrap panels. When you do...try to burn through the paint so you can see what it feels like. Very helpful to know where the limits are. Send me an email if I can help in the future. -L
After eleven years as a detailer, it feels good to know I can still learn things on a regular basis. Thanks for these videos and your tips. Even though I closed shop when my son was born, I still use my old skills and stuff I learn from guys like you to keep my own fleet looking its best. Keep up the good work!
SAME! I'm going to scoop some AMMO regimens just for all of the knowledge you drop on me with these videos...AND YES IT MAKES SENSE! You always make sense, ALWAYS! You're a natural teacher, thanks for de-mystifing vehicle paint restoration & renewal!
Thanks for posting. I am an amateur enthusiast and I do my own vehicles and a few for my family as well as my police car. We have take home, assigned patrol cars which is nice because I can keep it perfectly clean and I try to. What I really like about your videos the most, honesty. You are honest. If a product works, you say it works. If it doesn't, you say it's no good. I also like the fact that you always say "It's up to you, do what YOU want, i'm just trying to help". Thanks!
Thanks again! Glad you liked the channel. I will keep pumping vids out as much as possible. Send me an email if you have any questions in the future. Larry@ammonyc . com
imo best detailer on RU-vid, keep up the great work mate and I'm from Australia too would love to buy your products to support you for giving me a pro view on detailing and excellent tips.
D300 from Megiaurs with microfiber cutting pad is the safest method to compound. (I'm assuming you are in need of a "common" compound. No bodyshop level stuff) Thx for the note! -L
I am picking up a 2014 Audi S4 in monsoon gray metallic paint in December, I have been watching your videos non-stop for like two days now. I can't wait to get my hands on this new car and just embrace my inner OCD on cleaning it!
Larry, just wanted to mention that your AMMO vids are fantastic & super-informative... Hands down, your efforts, products & tutorials are the best in the industry. Keep up the great work and thanks so much for making auto-care a true passion for all of us!
Prime example of why i absolutely enjoy your channel. Always providing tips and tricks for the viewers and not just trying to market ammo (BTW top of the line for detailing IMO). Awesome job from Hawaii!
Larry you are the coolest dude... you make products but you don’t shove it down everyone’s throat and you make sure your videos are accessible to everyone
Thank you for the kind words. I love sharing my passion with others. If you like to support AMMO and buy products, great. If not, no problem! I say just use whatever works for you and use it often! Thanks again for watching and supporting AMMO
Comes off easily...but I dont get a ton of sling using MF cutting pads and a DA. Rotaries cause more sling than normal. But you're right its best to tape off and cover stuff....I kinda skip that sometimes because I rarely sling anymore. (you caught me cutting corners! lol) -L
Thanks. Paul is a great guy and a fantastic detailer. A good beginner polisher is the Griots DA....its a bit cheaper. The Rupes is a "better" machine if you are a pro and need to correct paint much faster. However, its 3x the price. Its worth it to me..but maybe not for a casual detailer. Hope that helps! -L
Larry...you're an awesome person...not just an awesome detailer. This is why I laugh every time I see "ChemicalGuys" trying to push their bullshit products.
LBigJake14 Because they're bogus. They're literally just a bunch of hipsters using mass produced products with their names on it. I'd put my money with Larry's products before any of those guys. And I'm not trying to plug the guy or kiss his ass. It's just that I've seen his background on /DRIVE and why they took this guy on. He did the chemical end for YEARS. Learned a lot about good and bad products.
Clear detailed instructions. You make it much easier to understand. Best detailer on YT. Not pushy and in your face like Chem Guys trying to sell you everything under the sun. Nice touches like using the soap instead of your product. Thanx Larry. Keep up the great work. Wishing you all the best with your business 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are a car restoration God. I found your $1,000,000 Ferrari Restoration on RU-vid and I didnt just learn alot of your techniques but also the Ferrari's body panels. Too bad your videos have not been around for the past 30 yrs in which I have owned over 40 cars. My favorite was a 77 Datsun 280Z. It was already in showroom condition and I got many responses from people on how nice it was but with your "magic" that car would be F'ing hot :-) Thanks for the vids and keep them coming.
You make very detailed videos and you share a wealth of knowledge that you have gained over the years. You make detailing look so easy and you have fun doing your thing. Thanks for your honesty. I am a new fan of MF technolgy, I love it.
Hey bud...it really depends on how hard the paint is, and what color the car is. Black is always a pain in the butt. Its always a good idea to do a finishing step if you are looking for that last 10% of shine. -L
You finally connected the dots between..ol school removal of swerl marks, I call it spider web...and the use of the micro fiber swerl removal process using the micro fiber cutting pad...then onto the polishing phase of use of the green foam polishing pad.....Thanks alot. I do upkeep on my friends 2016 Blk Suburban and 2009 Blk Avalon...there really gonna be blown away after I use this technique on there vehicles.
Sam, it depends on what type of scratch or "imperfection" you are trying to remove/repair. In this video I used Meguiars D300 with a Microfiber Cutting Pad. I mostly use this system when restoring paint. much safer and easier. Good question!
I have watched all your video's and love your simple and honest education about car detailing. You are a plethora of knowledge and wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I will be ordering your products when in need coming soon. I just clayed, compounded, polished and waxed my BMW 135i (Le Mans Blue) and cannot believe the shine. Thank you!!!!! #LEGEND
I feel your pain, i am only 2 years older than you. But once you get a customer base, their word of mouth really helps! Good Luck man! If you ever want to talk about ideas, feel free to message me
I am hooked to your videos! I am really grateful that someone with your expertise and knowledge has decided to share the knowledge with the rest of us. Thank you!
Hey bud, its most likely getting "stuck" on the rubbery texture of the plasti. Best bet is to use a short hair microfiber wash mitt and then use air or squeegee to remove the water. (For the record, I would NEVER recommend this on regular or normal paint. Plasti is a totally different ballgame) Hope that helps! -L
Dared3. I would by the griots garage da or porter cable da. Both good, but griot has more torque for microfiber correction if necessary and or possible. Thx for watching!
Beautiful work & car! You are very well spoken! I never expect to end up watching the whole video but I always do and than rush out to go touch up my car. Love it . Keep uploading :)
I currently use CroftgateUSA products, which I really love, but that said, your detail steps are fantastic! I appreciated the work you did to work that paint so well! A friend of mine clued me in to you and I'm impressed.
You are brilliant. Holy crap dude. If only I had the money to start up a little detailing business of my own. Ahhh, the joys of being 17. I have issues just keeping up with buying towels.
dude, you really got my attention and my respect, thats quite a work you did right there! from now on I´m goanna follow your videos! Now you have a subscriber from Mexico man, keep it up, I hope I learn a lot about detailing from you :)
man your awesome.. most retailers hide their secrets and whatnot but your honest, can't wait to buy your products! make a sticker of your cool logo thing i will totally buy it!!
Cool, just restored a friend of my mom's car's paint today. Full on 6 hour friggin restoration, even though I used a machine. I like to use a paint cleaner when I clay, like a detailer spray. But hey, eveyone has their own preference.
