You’re welcome and thank you for watching the video. Vinyl wraps are distributed in different sizes, the largest roll is 5x59ft, 5x32ft and 5x16ft. The vehicle size or panel will determine how much you need, wraps will vary in price depending on the color and seller.
Great job! I’m curious, what grit sandpaper did you use and did you do that by hand or machine? I’ll be dipping a car soon but it has a bunch of peeling clear coat that I need to sand down. Thanks in advance! ✌🏽
Thanks for the compliment and it’s best that you get rid of any loose paint or clear coat first hand. The correct way would be to use 400 grit first and 800 grit last, since I was wrapping the areas with vinyl it’s safe to begin and finish with 600 grit. My advice is to not sand down to the metal, try to keep as much paint for bonding purposes and whoever wants to paint the surface on a later date.
@@newtouchauto Thank you so much for the quick and detailed reply! Just one more follow up question, though. Are you wet sanding by hand to make sure you’re not removing paint, as you’ve previously mentioned?
Wet sanding is an option but no I didn’t go that route, I used a orbital sander. The grit you use will determine how much you want to sand off, anything 320 grit and under will cut through paint exposing metal.
