I think the reason they didn't give a roadmap is because there might not be that much content planned, which would make it difficult to "hype" the year... Let's hope I'm wrong.
If I could tell myself, who came back 3 months ago from a break since 2019, I would say three things only: Necromancy, Elder god wars dungeons and Fort forinthry.
Nah pretty much all the mods are on very big projects at the moment, they’ve been teasing their 2024 projects for months at this point. But they are keeping everything close to their chest, it sounds like some of the projects are particularly difficult (ramen described his as being the most difficult thing he has created in the 10 years of working on the game). Their current policy is to not over hype stuff they don’t know is coming for certain (though I believe there was mention recently that the ramen/Stu/blkwitch project is definitely ago at this point). So it sounds like 2024 has plans to do some very ambitious or complicated sounding stuff.
I have been playing for years and I still trip up on stuff like quests that need completed or prereqs like level 102 archeology to make an artificers. ect. oh, runescape. hahahaha

I literally just returned after taking a break for 9 months! It was like re learning the entire game again. I think I spent more time on wiki than I did playing the game 😂 Really enjoying necro, it’s forcing me to play mostly manual which is fun. I’ve been using your guide for it too which has been ever so helpful 😊
I finally got around to the Extinction quest after returning - but starting at Desperate Times made it a long slog. I would add that starting Anachronia ASAP is important for returning players. The resources can collect while you work on other things, and will be ready when you need it. It is time gated. These are a handy summaries,. Thanks.
Actually returned after a few months break when Necro released, just knew I didn't have the time to keep up with the exploration of a new skill. But returning and diving into it with guides is quite fun :)
Much appreciated content! Love having your videos to help get back in the swing of things/recap what I’ve missed. Great point about the subreddit, it’s so negative it pushes me away!
Been awhile since I left a comment on one of your videos. I returned just a few months ago and feel there is a TON more to do, which is awesome! and a bit overwhelming at time. PS: Great to see you still active and posting vid, keep it up!
They don't have anything planned is simply they don't have anything ready. They are trying to sell the rights so they just want to cash out and leave. I hope new company will bring Runescape back to life...
What a timely video. Literally logged in a few days ago after 1204 days and didn't last 10 minutes trying to figure out what I should be doing or what I want to do.

I used to love Runescape. I had many accounts and spent a great amount of time of my life grinding out characters, making pure builds and just having lots of fun. I played from before rune platemail was released. The reason I stopped playing was because of jagex. I lost my santa hat because of a bug that was abused by other players. Jagex knew about the bug, but I did not. Supposedly it was MY job to know about all of their coding discrepancies and when I asked for help they basically told me it was my fault, even though you can clearly see the bug abuse and they knew about it fora long long time. I bet the bug is still there. Now I only watch your videos from time to time to reminisce, I cant get back my time I grinded for that hat and the customer service actively encourages scammers. If I came back, I would simply become a bug abuser as they don't get punished and tbh I dont see the fun in cheating. Keep up the good work Protox. F*ck you Jagex.
I just got back into RS3 and just hit back on the grind to hit max. started chasing the boss pets and currently AFKing in GW1 for the pets. would love a guide on Boss order from Easiest to more complicated sort of like a Mechanics progression to help you build up skill over time. i feel like a lot of the bosses after GW1 started to become more and more complicated mechanically and are hard to keep up with, even GW2 can be a little overwhelming
I love runescape. But the biggest problem is keeping new players... I tried to explain to my friend how to get started and I was baffling myself just explaining the basics...
I remember trying to explain to my ex who loves gaming and likes MMORPG titles and explaining this to him even after years away from it was difficult. Even now I find myself learning things I never knew. To be fair I spent my early years of runescape just playing it to role play with limited time I had before either my sister wanted the computer or my dad needed it haha. Now I do skill and want to start taking on bosses which I've never done. Guess that's my new years resolution 😅
PROTOXX! I need help!! I tried to redeem a bond and for some reason it didn't redeem correctly. I can't get anyone at jagex to respond. I just want to open my purples or my bond back. Do you know anyone at jagex. Please help!
LOL perfect timing. I quit after the battle pass thing a few months ago and switched to CoD and Fortnite. MW3 is a slap in the face to it's fan base, and Fortnite gone downhill, so I downloaded WoW and logged back into RS3. Just need to figure out what I want to play, but I have a feeling my heart is with RS.
Its the same old repetitive grindy bs rs has always had just wrapped up in a new skill.. and the game isnt even anywhere near close to being as social as it used to be.. its a dead game on life support now
@@LG-ro5leI'm surprised the game is still around. I stopped playing for years and came back with a new account just 3 years ago. Yes it often feels dead but I've had equally some good times on it. The world does feel dead because it's become easier to skill at GE etc. I enjoy the archeology. It can feel grindy but whilst I'm grinding I've got time to watch things I don't usually have time to watch. Plus it's been a go to in the last year just when I dont really feel like doing too much gaming wise I'll go on the game and do some more skilling or a small quest I've been meaning to do. No matter how long you play it for, or take a break from it it's always a part of who we are.
Protoxx- Can you please do an updated video on the wilderness achievements please? Since fort forinthry and necomancy, the new landscape and challenges have changed. pleaseeeee
I tried returning to re-max and the client doesn’t work for me. PC is plenty strong enough for the game so I don’t know what’s wrong. Even when I do load into the game world I only have about 30 minutes until the client closes entirely, so I am deterred from doing combat.
i really don't want to know how long getting a quest cape takes i got mine just got to do the new quests some of the old ones even with a guide where hard
what exactly are you able to buy from rs3 with the micro transactions. are you able to get the BIS gear in game with IRL money for a reasonable price? or buy XP to max your account?
You know what the game lacks most? A community. I've been in the same clan for 14 years now. We rarely chat and they are always a handful online and never speak. I came back about 3 weeks ago now. Not a single player outside of my clan has said a single word to me lol. That's a fucking problem lol

I have an old char combat lvl 93. From before 2012 and it got auto transferred to RS3. I have long on once or twice since I started a chat on old school. But he still only around combat lvl 30. What version would you recommend to work on. And what is all the different server types Not the country. Or if it members. The part that says if it’s no trading or has a certain criteria
Necro didn’t change combat, the exp changes happened before that as an indepdent change which they are doing in batches. You fundamentally don’t have that much actual difference you’ll just need to have a bit more food ar places. Best ways is training on undead, fetid zombies, ankou, etc… especially if you take some time to do haunted mine to get a salve amulet that increases accuracy and damage against them,. The goal is to just fight things with high hp but low defenses. Start Fetid Zombies and Trolls > move into Ankous and Ghouls > transition to bound skeletons and Abby demons and from that point you’re pretty much high enough to do whatever. Salve amulet will make a tremendous difference. It only takes one quest (priest in peril), 35 agility, and 15 crafting to do it. The boss is a joke and you can even exit the boss room to heal up and return and their hp will still be low. You’ll want to eventually make it into a super “salve amulet (e)” which takes 40 slayer. Slayer is also a good way to train combat still, but some the rebalanced high end slayer monsters like turoths are still being assigned by lower level masters so that’s something to watch out for. You can get a nice combat exp juice if you mix in some dailies/weeklies/monthlies as well. Troll invasion, Balthazar’s big top, and tears of Guthix all can help. Following quests by timeline order will get you a lot of exp and fairly minimal grinding, combat included. So that’s another way to go about it.
@@Hirokey123 ive been doing questlines like the elves, mahjarrat, and vampire one. The gnome questline helped me all the way to combat lv60. Additionally ive also been dumping all my lamps in prayer (currently lv65 or sum)
How about no? I will never return after last year’s MTX. Not even if the game does well in the future. I’ve moved on to other things to do in my life besides waisting time grinding. Real life has just as many issues as RuneScape, except that my grinding in real life comes with benefits that are worth something.

with all the new key offers, ruining the economy and selling out so that my gains mean nothing i wont be returning ever. to give someone 1000 dollars in keys for playing raid shadow legends made me realize i need to leave.
i've played extremely casually 5 years ago and have 40m to my name. 90 mage and 5 necromancy, would you say it's worth to grind necro for PvM or just stay with mage? edit: i have 170m now thanks to a lucky aurora dye lol
Necromancy is magic, range, melee, summoning, and prayer or it’s another way to put it a style where you are one person controlling an entire MMO raid party.
Play ironman. It's a completely different game with no micro-transactions and incredible amount of content as no player trading means you need to explore forgotten parts of the game which turns out to be great!
Ahh so nothing changed. It's still all about PvM, bosses etc. I stopped playing because combat is overhyped and too rewarding compared to other less risky activities. I guess inflation is still huge too
As it should be? Why would you not want 'more risk = more reward' You do understand if they released a low risk high reward activity everyone would do it thereby tanking the prices.

@@ProtoxxGaming Last I checked those were roughly 80m, which is is incredibly expensive. Let me rephrase, it's too expensive to play casually. Any other game in my library I can play any time I want. Runescape however, I have to make sure my next two weeks are fairly open as I will have to constantly be setting timers for herb runs just to make sure I can make money back, nevermind even saving up for new gear. And then I'm exhausted from being forced to binge it and make sure I do dailies before my member timer runs out. It isn't a game I can just log on for a couple days a week or whenever I feel like it. But if it's pretty much the only game you play, then yea sure.
@@ProtoxxGaming I'm glad you understand and thanks for all the great videos. I keep up with your channel to make sure I don't miss much and the few times I do play it's often been because you let me know of an event or something. Wish I could play it more, but in the meantime thanks for all the content you make.
Who will be coming back soon? I want my bank select sent back to left click 1 and right click 5,10,all. The jmod that made this rash decision to chsnge this are really pissing people off. Dont fix something that isnt broken. So dam made here!

@@ProtoxxGaming if youre not first youre last ricky bobby. Also I commmented on your other video about getting the necro drop at 2m exp. The day after that I got the kerry pet at 53 kills and last night I got magma tempest drop at my first ever zuk kill. Spent 5-7 hours on pizza phase.
