I came in here because your click bate said reviving dead grass not filling in dead spots . You even showed the big patch of dead grass but didnt work on it. waste of time
I don’t think you paid well attention to what Frank was saying , he said that before the video it was all dead grass and that he had revived it back to live by just adding water , but that it was patchy , so went on to repair those patches , as for the other side that looks dead ,that’s his neighbors yard
Thanks Frank! I live up in Washington and my lawn needs some TLC. I appreciate your video. I like the practical simple steps with inexpensive tools and materials everyone has or can easily acquire.
It’s a good tip to add top soil after and not before. I had some erosion and had to add topsoil then grass seed and added EZ hay instead of peat moss. It worked well. Watering is really the key to success
Hey man, just wanna say I love your channel a lot! Your videos are very informative and very relaxing! Great work! Oh, I'm looking forward for an update to your grass patch!
As someone with a townhouse with a small lawn and backyard this was very helpful. I don't need the large tools to fill in patchy grass. $30 tools are more in line with what I need.
Thanks for your help with that I grew my whole front yard back after I over fertilized my lawn I wanted to remove all of the crabgrass so I went straight to Lowe’s and purchased the same tool and wham bam I have grass
My buddy down street out down dirt and grass seed last September his didn t turn out to good think lack of water and it's all shade with alot of tree roots so now reseeding put down minerals ironite mix and scotts starter fertilizer
Ummm.... that may be greener grass than the other side, but it's not good grass dude. You don't need to water it to green it up before you lay seed. You have to water seed everyday anyway so you can just do it then. Plug aeration is far better if your soil is compacted than just putting some spikes in it. The spike tool is for dethatching. Which is what you did. You don't fertilize your lawn when you seed. You have to wait until the seed has grown to 3", mow it, then mow twice more, a few weeks later, then fertilize. If you're gonna fertilize at the time of seeding make sure the fertilizer is for seeds. Dude, everyone knows that if you don't water your grass it will turn brown. If you water it, it will grow. Basic stuff. You should have gotten rid of your weeds before you seed. They'll suck the nutrients out of the soil that your new grass needs.
You’re right about a few things. Firstly, the tool is called a cultivator and it can be used to loosen the soil. It’s not for dethatching. Also, you’re supposed to seed then fertilize your lawn after loosening the compacted soil. I agree that weeds along with other debris should be removed
This was a very informative video. I truly appreciate you taking the time in showing up. Will this work if my own is almost orange with some gray spots due to severe sun damage?
