Guys mansplain a ton. You're very precise in what you were saying. I already know all of this stuff anyway, but I'm saving for a bike in the meantime and getting my "fix" by watching videos about 'em. This video was super easy to listen to and follow regardless!

Great job on this video Matt! A lot of useful info!! Exactly like learning to ride a horse. You don't just jump on a horse and go. You need to get the feel of a horse and they need to get the feel of you. Like a bike, a horse can do unexpected things and you can come across unexpected things on your trail. Knowing your ride and how to handle it in all situations and riding conditions is a sure fire way to being a safe rider! 💜

That is awesome! 125cc four strokes are percent for not only learning, but also as you get better they are still enough power to have fun as pitters! The 125cc trail bikes still rip when you open them up, dont let anyone tell you anywise! Good luck and have fun!

First time on a (buddies) dirt bike today. I should have watched this video first. Still probably would have crashed since I was in WAY over my head, but at least some of this would have helped. Great quick intro for us newbs! This was a lot of fun to watch!

Everyone’s gotta crash sometimes, it’s just a part learning! Don’t get discouraged, get back at it when you can, you’ll get the hang of it!

It took me 2 days to learn how to ride with a clutch and always go to a gear that you are comfortable with and for me since I live in a small area I just stay in 3rd gear even though a tao 125 has 4 gears

How tall & heavy are you and what bike is this? Trying to get a reference point. I’m 6ft 170lbs looking for my first bike
@STEN-164

I’m 5’10 175lbs, and this is the KLX140rL, they make three versions of the 140, the regular r model has the tiny wheels and it is your normal pit bike. The rL model has bigger wheels and a higher seat height, then finally the rF which has full sized motocross wheels and the highest seat height, only an inch or so shorter than what you would find on a crf250f I would say the klx140rL is great, it’s been such a fun playbike. It would be amazing to learn on as your first bike. As a very first bike, I would highly recommend something that you are nice and low to the ground, and have a firm flat foot touch with both feet, this will grow your rider confidence very quickly A couple of other more powerful options would be a crf250f or klx230r, but honestly the 140 is a very fun playbike that you would still love even when you finally move up to a bigger bike later on!

For some reason i have more trouble turning right....
@STEN-164
@STEN-164 4 месяца назад
There is nothing wrong with this, I find myself way more comfortable with left turns. I believe it is because the throttle is on the right side of the bike, so you are squished up more when turning right. Most people have a turn that is easier for them, that’s perfectly normal, just try to practice it as much as your can, so that you can better even it out
