Maybe it's weird, but a 45 minute video of your cycling stories is so much better than hours of the 3 or 4 streaming services I subscribe to. Thank you for sharing this with us 😊
I always feel guilty when, for whatever reason, I question whether I should go on a ride or not - so it was kind of reassuring to see you struggling with that too, at the start of your second day! The rides you're unsure about, but still end up going on, are always the best. Loved the stamp on the coffee filter too! Thanks for the video, great as always :)
these are exactly the routes and paths that I love - when I cycle in the german low mountain ranges - fine gravel - moderate gradients - car traffic prohibited - only a few hikers your view of things corresponds so much to my style of photography - that it really amazes me and of course gives me great pleasure - thank you very much for that i wish you many more great bike tours and you will definitely take us with you some more times
I always look forward to a new PR video. Loved this one. Thanks for sharing these moments of your life. I do like riding alone mostly. Except when Jan decides to join me. That's the best. Until next time.... Cheers.
Brilliant stuff Marcus. Loved the chat about the Korean uncles, the guy with the double raised fist pump of joy walking down the hill had me wondering. Also appreciated the reminder to have an outcome/goal for a ride. 💪💪💪
I have a Clever Dripper which does the same kind of thing as your Hario. I got it when I finally realised that I prefer filter coffee to espresso-based drinks! Thanks for the work you put into making these videos. I love your bikes and the Korean scenery.
Now I believe that skipping a day of biking makes me feel like my day is incomplete. I hurt by back last Saturday, for an unrelated reason, and could not ride my bike for about a week. It takes a moment to get back on the saddle at 45. (I guess I should stretch more. 😉) With the changing season where I am, it is getting colder and the days are shorter. Not riding each day left me feeling incomplete. The disappointment of not biking daily was a testament to my drive and the freedom it brings to my day. Riding alone gives me freedom and peace. When I am flying down a hill I throw my thoughts to the winds. Marcus’ life and stories have improvement my mental health so much. He reminded me to slow down (but not on hills and mountain passes!!), breath, drink excellent coffee, live bikes, love your days as they are, and to be alive in the moment you have right now. 당신의 바퀴가 빠르고 당신의 자전거 도로가 행운이 되기를 바랍니다. 감사합니다. 조심하세요.
I find that riding alone is preferable since I can ride my pace and I don’t need to wait around or look for a riding partner. I am planning my retirement ride right now. A solo ride from my home is San Jose, California to Staten Island New York starting in May of 2026. Thanks for the excellent content. PS, enjoying my “Probably Riding” hat…
I started naming my bikes a couple years ago. I thought derivatives of famous cyclists would be fun. It started with a yellow, 70s Schwinn Le Tour I converted to a gravel/rando bike....its name is "Yella Night Ham". And my modern gravel bike is named "Jacks Uncle Teal". Next bike will be "Ronald Donnet"....not famous but funny. Just like me. Thank you for your cycling inspiration. I look forward to every adventure you share.
Somebody once said, “if you’re on the right path, it will always be uphill.” You definitely made the right choice climbing back up! 😊 Nice video. I’ll be visiting Korea with my family next spring. Very much looking forward to it. By the way, my daughter’s name is Sooji and her favorite color is yellow. I may have to build her a 황수지 someday 😂
I like keeping my own company and have learnt (over the years) to enjoy and even savour solitude. Everything in our daily lives are constantly screaming for our attention all the time, one can hardly find one’s own thoughts at all. Hence I love solo riding, not bound by anything except one’s own pace and one’s own ambition. I ride when I want and as far or near as I want, I wave or nod to every other solo cyclist I pass by, like secret handshake or nod of acknowledgment. Most folk mistake it for being lonely, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. People who enjoy solitude are never lonely. 😊
@@probablyriding If a picture is worth a thousand words, your videos provide a far better perspective of how and why one should do solo riding than any description I can use. So kudos is definitely to you and your videos, mate. 👌
What's this oxford shirt do you ride in? Muji? Guessing you don't find it uncomfortable since you seem to be wearing it often. Sometimes I commute from work wearing mine, but for longer distances I am usually in a loose t-shirt, preferably not 100% cotton.
This is a hiking shirt from Korean outdoor brand, Cayl. Dries quickly and a I like the looser boxy fit. Super comfy with a load of pockets. Synthetic materials.
I got ahead of myself as you explained a little later on. Looks lovely round there. Can’t beat the atmosphere of small countryside towns in Korea. Loved the Mr Motivator reference too for your UK audience 🕺
have you ever gotten badly injured biking? if so, how'd you recover mentally when getting back on a bike? last year i snapped my arm in half my first time on an electric bike. i just wanna ride a normal bike now!
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the Berthoud saddles in comparison to the Brooks since you have experience with both. If you were ever inclined to make a video about it!
don't know, why these oury grips are so popular - give it a try, but didn't understand at all (very rubber feeling). why don't use leather grips from brooks, ergo grips from ergon or similar? just curious every time 😮 still many likes for new video as usual
@@probablyriding That's no good, mine doesn't do that, but it definitely overheats, but that could be due to the fact I live the southern part of the US.
It is in interesting Question, i have the motivation in me too. I want to ride my bikes every day, for me it us absolutly freedom when I sit on the bikes. I have a question too. You bought this monopole bike, can you make a Review about it one time you have time. In Germany there is no shop to try it. :-)
I feel like a climb is always worth it for the views you get, as well as the descent 😊 16:46 wow 😮 what a stunningly beautiful view 😍 perfect place for a coffee! Some great lines in this one. The penis juice is good for stamina 😂 We humans are walking/riding contradictions. I'm just imagining all the Korean uncles lifting up your Susie 😂
@@probablyriding btw, interesting observation about the ajashi's rooting for you on those tough climbs. as you know, Koreans have an interesting relationship with pain and suffering-- and I mean that in the very best way! Loving the observations!
