On the hunt at Dongmyo market for a vintage mountain bike. Plenty of good coffee snacks and cold noodles too. Music by Alex & The Moondaze - Float Away - thmatc.co/?l=D2018AE1
My favourite thing about your whole channel is a reminder to slow down while im on my bike and just enjoy everything at such a great pace. Great video again, thanks for sharing your time!
This is the life I want. Nice bike, bikeable city, people walking around, lots of hidden gems around the city. You inspire me to ride more even though my city is not as bike-friendly.
Your videos have gotten me to start biking around my city even though I was pretty nervous. Thanks so much for showing me all the good things that biking gives. Always look forward to your videos, your content is my favourite on youtube right now!
My son and I ride to our local coffee shop every Sunday. It’s a nice outing, the baristas know our orders by face. It’s lovely. Safe travels while you hunt for your next cup.
I'm planning to build a new commuter/ coffee bike. Usually, I go for speed. But because of your channel, I'm aiming for something more comfy and stylish. I am looking forward to it.
Your channel has inspired me to put a comfy saddle and bars on my fixed gear bike and be more chilled about it. Not sure if being more chilled is in my repertoire but I love your energy and I want to give it a go.
Nice! I used to ride fixed, in fact, I still have my fixed gear bike. I just never ride it anymore because my other bikes are so much more comfortable.
@@probablyriding extremely jealous... The choice is limited in rural Scotland... I expected your channel to motivate me to ride my bike more, but I didn't expect it to motivate me to specifically ride to the Asian supermarket 15 miles away, or to start making my own kimchi!! The 30 mile round trip is worth it!
Another great video! The back street markets remind me of the ones in my wife's country of Thailand. I still don't know how you can drink that much coffee, my heart is racing just watching you. But they look really delicious. Can't wait for the next video.
@@Atmaneos All right! I don't have a firm date yet... I'll want to do a longish tour also, maybe to Busan if I feel ambitious. Anyone else interested??
I just found your channel. Lovely mix of urban immersion in an interesting location and that topic that never stops giving, vintage bikes. That Klein would definitely have caught my eye too. Initially I liked this video. Then I saw you thumbing through Earth Wind and Fire and order an Affogato. I’m upgrading to ‘Favourite’!
Relaxing rides, vintage bike shopping, narrow alleyways, architecture, urbanism, coffee, music cafe, mid century design, cold noods, and so much more. The more I watch your videos, the more I regret not going to South Korea to teach when I had the chance to. Hope you're having a lovely day 💚 Edit: Clean cup club 😂
Thanks for making these videos! 😁🚲 I can only imagine. And not even just Seoul, my best mate was in Busan for years and he had only good things to say about it (besides the soju hangovers haha). I'd definitely have the confidence to ride on the roads in Korea. In South Africa, not so much 😢 but we still get to ride on some beautiful beach promenades and mountain biking trails. Not sure if I've said it before, but my condolences for Arsenal missing out on the title again. As a Liverpool supporter, I feel your pain 😅. F cars and F $ity
Klein back in the day was a highly rated mountain bike. Very trail worthy out of the shop. Sad to see it turned into a Frankenstein bike because the original owner did not know what he bought. Now that Litespeed behind the Klein, that's a titanium frame and if most of the parts are original to the bike THAT bike I would take over the Klein . 😉
This is my live in Germany🥰 so nice to see that a lot of people like it… thank for the good translation into a Video ❤love it…ans Seoul is so Beautyful. And the music is the best… i have already a music Play List 😂
great video, as always! kinda random but that fellow velo orange rider with that helinox chair strapped to the top tube is a genius. I think I might do the same.
I’m a recent subscriber but I love what I’ve seen so far. There’s a lovely meandering quality to your footage and narration. I can see your quandary with the Klein MTB. Think those frames were built suspension fork specific - which is a tricky if you want to convert to rigid (not many forks available to do this). That XTR grouppo is a beauty tho. If you’re into your Shimano it really is one of the very best they ever made. Almost worth it for the parts.
Love your videos. Even Seoul is such a big city, the little streets and secret paths look so peaceful. How are the prices for food and coffee compared to England?
It’s a huge, endless city but there are plenty of pockets of peace. Inflation has gone up a lot. Coffee about the same as the UK. Eating out is still reasonable and cheaper than the UK if you eat local Korean food but western food is very expensive.
I love your content! So cozy!!! I also live in Korea, but I am always afraid of parking my bike outside. Any tips for not losing your bike while you are at a cafe or restaurant? Thanks.
Hey Marcus! Love ur videos as always. First of all, thank you for sharing rookey bike for me! I recently got a nitto losco bar from there Second. i have a question. Korea is famous for country of 엄복동 which means there are lots of bike thieves.. do you just park and lock your bike and hope that no one steals it? Or do you have any tricks(?)
Thanks for watching. The Losco bars are nice. Bike theft in Korea is so much lower than other countries. Despite that, I still lock my bike every time.
The Klein is good and all, but please tell me you bought that Earth, Wind & Fire LP at Touski. Clean bowl club, clean cup club, AND clean plate club in one ride. Epic!
That's how a lot of people did it back in the 90's. I had skinny slick 26" Continentals on my full suspension Cannonade Super Raven 2000. People used mountain bikes for everything. Mountain bikes brought the cycling industry back during that time.
What's the significance of Alex & The Moondaze? I feel like a song makes an appearance in each video, just wondering because I like all the songs that play.
Really been enjoying these videos! Just moved somewhere that doesn't have very good cycling infrastructure and I am missing biking in my everyday life. Any recommendations (other than moving haha) for just creating little mini cycling adventures for myself? Cheers
I hope you indulge on the bike purchase soon. I want to reduce my bike numbers, it’s getting harder to maintain a fleet 😂. I was wondering if you had any tips about working in Korea? You mentioned you lived in an area many years back and if you have time any tips on what it takes to migrate or work permits etc would be interesting. I working in e-commerce/web sites and salesforce implementations. Thanks
Currently building a bike actually. Can't wait. Working in Korea as a foreigner isn't easy unless you are in the education industry, can speak Korean fluently or you have skills that a lot of Koreans don't have. Sorry to be a downer!
@@probablyriding Thanks for the note. OK sounds a bit like Japan where a close friend of mine is working as an English Teacher for corporate training. I did start to learn Japanese for that purpose but I imagine its very hard in Korea with the language barrier unless you are in education. Cheers
How safe is it in South Korea to leave your bike outside? Or are you locking it to something after you take the shot of it outside the coffee shops? I'm intrigued! Thanks again for a lovely video. I almost never comment on vidoes on RU-vid but for some reason have found myself commenting on two videos in a row of yours. Thanks for the content, Marcus! If you're ever back in London, I'd love to ride bikes with you!
It’s their mid 90s mountain bike model w a mix of early 90/aughts LX,XT and XTR! Stridsland barnacle fork uncut and little other fun bits and bobs. Good luck with the bike hunt!
@@probablyriding I understand now, another note I just moved to South Korea, mainly ride road but it is quite intimidating not know much language or places to ride. Any suggestions for routes in the mountains?
