@@FishermansHeadquarters Anthony Chiarappo of Truro, Mass introduced them to me. I know that Tony Stetzko was using a dropper rig with a live eel with a dropper at Nauset Beach when he caught the 73lb Striper. However, I am not certain what dropper lure he was using,

Red Gills were designed by my late father who set up the company in 1968 I believe one of the first people state side to import them was a gentleman I believe was called Vincent Pericone I think in New York. Apparently he caught a Stripper with a Red Gill in its mouth so guess some one had bought some whilst in England they had actually sanded the Red Gill logo off the tail to try and keep the lures name secret. The family sold the business around the turn of the millennium after the death of my brother who had been running it. They are still made in the Southwest of England.
