Niceeeee Thanks so much @gerardamitranno8837 really appreciate that... just FYI my channel focuses on teaching / education of basic fishing fundementals that are often not discussed so that I can show how using these fundementals can be applied to a variety of fish and help you catch more fish where ever you may be fishing given how busy we all are... Welcome to the community!!! So happy to have you on board!!! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Johnny, I like to tie those rubber squid rigs. Not only are they good fluke rigs but they are deadly on sea bass and weakfish. I use octopus circle hooks when I target sea bass and weaks and I atttach a thin squid strip to the hook instead of a gulp bait. Works great! Thanks for the tips! Very helpful vid!

Hey JPN! Thanks so much for watching and nice comment! Makes my day! Yeah those tactics work great for seabass and weakfish! So happy to hear your having great success with it. The same rig also works wonders at 900ft for Tile fish! Such a great versatile rig... squid is a good choice in bait! ;) thanks again for watching! Have a great weekend!

Congratulations on your newborn. I like to watch your videos I learn a lot from you. So my question is is the Cape May reef a good spot to go flounder fishing And are they biting.
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot Год назад
Hi Robert!! Thanks so much for the kind words! And thanks so much for watching!! To answer your questions yes cape may reef is a good spot, but heavily pressured so I would have a plan B and C just in case fishing is tough... secondly it's tough to say if fish are biting in the future tense because the conditions and fish are always changing... fluke fishing has been really good last two weeks, so lately fishing has been good... just remember the lessons in the video, sometimes you need to wait for water movement for fish to become active and it's super important to find the structure and fish... rock piles, boulders, artificial reefs are all great spots for fluke... I hope this helps, please let me know if you have additional questions! Thanks!!

I basically use/make the same rigs as you! I just made some with rattles I got off a catfish site. Haven't used them as of yet. Will let you know how they work!

How many inches is the dropper loop on the squid rig ? You need to get that loop over the hook .
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment @gerardamitranno8837 Honestly, make the dropper look not just big enough to fit the hook and tubing through... the longer you make the loop the more increased chances you have with tangles... You see those videos on longggg t-knot rigs all the time, but those are tangle central. Hope this helps...

What would you use for a live lining spot or other bait fish thanks
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot Год назад
Hey Timothy, thanks so much for watching and your question... if you are fishing in any decent current I'd go with the long leader rig I show at the end of the video, if fishing shallow water you can def use a jig head with live bait hooked through the nose, if your not in much current and fishing shallow I'd recommend just a slip float or Cajun thunder bobber with the hook set underneath to your desired depth... I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions... thanks again, have a great weekend.

Great to see the non slip loop knot in its entirety :) Do I spy a Slam Shady 2.0?
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot Год назад
HAHAHA rightttt??? Haha too funny!! I am working on fixing that glitch, turns out with private links it's not as easy... I literally need to produce a whole new video!! Thanks again for pointing it out though Billy. Appreciate it! IT IS a slam shady 2.0.... I got a few free packs and really like those lures! Joe and Luke did a great job with the gold flakes in the ghost color! You a big fan of the salt strong team, Billy? Haha

What kind of bulb squid do you use
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 9 месяцев назад
Hey Harvey... Thanks so much for watching and the comment... here's some of the tubes I use, I just order them off of amazon... You can buy any brand you like, but for offshore Fluke Fishing I'd just recommend getting 4-5 inche tubes and mixing in some white and chartruse glow. I also use a trokar hook (super sharp) in either a 5/0 or 6/0 hook. I left the names of some of the things I use and the links below if you are interested. I hope this helps!! Squid Skirts Fishing Saltwater Octopus Fishing Lures: amzn.to/3s7QCRG Jigging world Micro Silicon Skirt Teasers: amzn.to/47r2wGu Lazer Trokar Pro-V Octopus Hook (5/0 or 6/0 for offshore): amzn.to/3s7wr6t

Have you ever tried rattles on your fluke rigs??
@Johnnyfishalot
@Johnnyfishalot 10 месяцев назад
Hey PopPop Joe! Thanks so much for watching and the comment... Yes, I have used and do use rattles for fluke... I usually accomplish this with a few beeds or a rattle. However, I tend to focus more type of lure/rig depending on conditions to get the lures/baits in the strike zone, then on profile of the baits/lures (size and motion), then probably scent / colors... How about you? do you rely heavily on beeds/rattles? Or do you also focus on different aspects of your lures/baits? Thanks so much again for the comment!! And for tuning in!!
