I've seen this on a couple of the RU-vid catfish guys channels that I follow but haven't seen anybody here in Central Texas, where I live use them. If they are, they're being quiet. I just ordered some and think I'll try them out here where I fish. They aren't expensive and I don't fish in water anything like the Tennessee River though so I got a few different colors. And of course, I ordered before I finished the video! I missed yet another discount. The story of my life. LOL!

Hey Justin! Love the channel! One quick question: Have you ever/would you ever rig this Santee cooper style from the bank? This would be in a river/current setting. I don’t think it would be effective in a lake but with enough moving water I feel like the fly would carry nicely behind bait. Thanks!!

that's the same knot that I have been using since I started fishing. the only time I have had a problem with the knot is on small test line. sometimes the knot will slip and I would have to retie it again. Great knot and easy to tie. thanks for the video I was wondering how you tied your rig. Neil from West Virginia.

You definitely need a float when dragging to keep your bait off bottom. The effectiveness of rattles is debatable but they definitely don’t seem to hurt.

Some absolute monsters in it but tons of barge traffic .. I’m going to order some stinger flies never tried them but like seeing your success with them - never too old to learn something new. Hell I have a bass boat and fish for everything but bass in it lol. Even attached catfish rod holders as soon as I got it back in 2014 wife bout it as a wedding gift for me 🫡😇👍🏽. It wouldn’t be very effective unless you were fishing under a float and had your rig up off the bottom.

Circle hooks set themselves when the fish swims away, right in the side of the mouth. Another benefit of circle hooks are that the fish won't get gut hooked.
