How to Riven Fast Q Combo (AA Animation cancel) +3 basic combos - Season 9 Riven Guide 

Im going to break it down into FINER detail than explained in the video. When I was learning this, there were errors not addressed in these tutorial videos I was doing. (maybe it COULD work, but its best to just stick to this formula) *** DO NOT use the A key (auto attack command key) ever while playing riven. It will royally screw your combos. This is something useful for ADCs, but DO NOT use this with riven***** Step 1: Auto on target with cursor on target Step 2: Start Q animation WITH cursor on target (it is REALLY hard to see in this video, but he IS starting the Q animation WITH the mouse still on the cursor ***THIS is an easy part to mess up. Do not start clicking on ground behind you until you have started the Q animation*** Step 3: Mid Q (after you have started the animation), click on the ground behind you (or to the side, although behind is easier for me) Step 4: Ending animation of Q, move your cursor back to the target to prepare for the next auto attack Step 5: refer to step 1 and repeat

Thank you so much for the video, I just took some time in a custom game, was like about 1 hour straight of practising this mechanic, and now I can do it with ease.

Does clicking on the ground really do anything? or it's just your way of making a small pause? I realized riven has no strict timing or whatsoever to cancel her animations and I've done the combo even a bit faster than this without clicking on the ground (not consistently tho) and also super slow I feel like I can cancel at any point and it's just being consistent con the input delay to do it fast. Maybe I should try it like this I feel it's like plinking on fighting games something you really don't have to do but makes a lot of ppl's inputs easier.

was practicing the AA Q combo for prolly 1-2 hours and I find the easiest way to get it perfect was just to pay attention to the AA sound it makes than Q, might help some of you who is trying to get it right. Keep doing that untill you get it right then turn off your sound and try it some more.

excellent video !!! i was about to ask why would anyone animation cancel but this video nailed the answer for me (i.e. (AA + Q) x 3 combo completes about a second earlier so more damage done in less time). others: 1. Is there other ways to pull off the Q combo? I have read binding laugh to T so animation cancel can be pulled off by Q > T 2. are you cancelling the Q animation or the AA animation? 3. why E>W and not W>E if you want to stun at start point? so are you trying to cancel the excess time off your Q from the click or your auto, as in do you click afterwards or before you auto?

For fast combo, I normally click twice on the ground during my q animation. Should I only be clicking once? Also, nice vid!

can i use attack move/attack move click instead of right clicking? Ive been practicing with right clicking and i always fuck it up but with attack move ive been getting it down.

It's a bit awkward but is it just me or are the Q cancels faster when you click directly behind riven opposed to her sides. Example I can animation cancel faster on something above riven

This is the only animation I can't do and i don't feel like a proper riven main because of it. It looks like you're moving your curser WHILE pressing Q but if I try that my Q will just hit in the wrong direction.

I realized that while you do the combo your Riven usually stays put, but when I try to do it, my Riven goes out of order walking forward and that ends up crossing some walls without wanting, can you help me?

First of all awesome Guide, I also Love those slowmotion comparisons, helped me Out alot. I keep moving around Way too much When i click While the q Animation lasts :/. I already changed the Sensitivity of my mouse to Click as fast as possible. Often I Do too many clicks and I Ruin it or I just miss the the Animation cancel. Any Tips :)? I spent 2 Hours in a Custom Game clearing Camps just with that, willing to spend many more Hours. So I would appreciate it if u Could give me a tip how u do it with the Click, how many times or how far away u Click :). Sorry for my english and thanks again

How can I train my clicking accuracy first? It looks pretty much like kiting but here you cancer your Q animation instead of cutting off the AA animation. But I can't kite either because I can't click around so fast accurately.

Your E hydra AA wq is not optimal. You can E then AA HydraWQ at the same time (triple cast) Takes a bit of practice but t is indeed possible
