"And everything changed when the Deathwing attacked. Only the Orc Jesus, master of all 4 elements could stop him. But when the world needed him most his class got nurfed."
I think I know of another Goblin Archetype for RP. *Passionate* Rarity:Rare Difficulty: Medium? This is one of the best ways to RP a goblin that isn't greedy or neutral. When trying to find examples of non-greedy Goblins, Grazlowe was one that came to mind. When he talked of Orgrimmar like it was his crowning achievement, that was what inspired me. Goblins don't necessarily have to be greedy, Blizzard just ran that trait into the ground to accentuate their neutrality and give them a motivation to stay neutral for as long as possible. However ALL Goblins are passionate about what drives them whether that be gold, technology, or whatever drives your character. This is how a Goblin can be dedicated to whatever group or cause they are a part of without gold being involved. Just pick a hard core motivation for your Goblin, whether it is class related or not, give it some of that Goblin attitude and you can have a good character on your hands.
I RP a goblin priest. Since that seemed to be a very unlikely combination, I took inspiration from the Ferengi on Star Trek Deep Space 9. Other than being brown and having round ears, they're not very different from goblins. The priest uses Star Trek's "Rules of Acquisition" (I modified them for WoW), which he stole from "The Grand Nagus" while in the kajamite mines. And the name of his church? Why The Church of the Holy Profit, of course! I also came up with a type of speech for him. I took a lot of 1940s slang and programmed it into the Tongues addon; the result being pretty hilarious. Often people get the gist of what he just said, but are scratching their head at the actual words. Ah also changed a lotta basic woids fer him...so dat it kinda sounds more like dey's from New Joisey.
It's funny that you say that because in BFA there's a line that the trade Prince says about having his lobes rubbed which is a direct reference to the Ferengi from Star Trek
It is mentioned that Goblins tend to reproduce like "rabbits", so most Goblin families are quite huge. That could fit into roleplay as well, like the mention of like 12 siblings or cousins or something. Just thought I'd throw that out there
12 cousins/siblings isn't THAT much, a lot of human families have that... Out of about 30 goblins that got on the new island after escaping the one where they met the horde, they got thousands of goblins (the zombies) within a few month's... That's like, 50 goblins per day or something :D so it woukd be rather like 1000 siblings ;)
The huge families absolutely explain why there were cartels forming, and why they are greedy. Don't get me wrong on that one, but if you know you are gonna have many kids, or you have a big family to take care of, it's natural you will care about money and lifestyle. Of course they are extreme, but because their culture is so centered around this that they don't have a moral system that tries to prevent that greed to take over. At the same time, they don't care about other cultures a lot, or even other goblins, because their next one is their own family, probably even only their kids and not their brother, at times. And this is probably still a very 'honorable' and 'generous' goblin in their eyes, since he doesn't keep all to only himself.
I think you may have missed a very key feature to Goblin personality. In WCII and WCIII, they weren't as much Greedy as they were completely insane and obsessed with explosions. The Greedy ones are usually the heads of the Cartel, while most of the other Goblins are just fodder or thrillseekers. This is almost iconic in the WC Goblin units, such as the Sapper and Shredder units. The Greed is just their to kind accentuate how Neutral they are. There Loyalty goes to the highest bidder, but they have a sort of "honor among thieves" or at least to each other, as the Gob Squad scenario.
My goblin hunter has a love for war. He finds more joy in the company of orcs, than other goblins. Of course, he does have a habit of looting before the fight is even over.
Isn't it rather comical how the goblin starting zone treats you like the headboss and after 1 hour of sacrifcies, tears and grinding together they forget about you and treat u like shit....
In my opinion, hunter fits Goblins really well. Since hunters are able to stalk, are mobile and use guns. Could make it into Goblin personality. You can also make it a Bountyhunter who earns alot of money without the need of "natural strenght", instead, it really comes down to tactics, reflexes, engineering and will. Although good video! Always enjoy these videos :)
Good job man pretty new to the channel and from the few videos ive seen they have all been great how is your channel not bigger i can see how much research and editing you do to make these videos i appreciate it.
I would say that the straight up greedy personality is quite rare most goblins seam that way at first but once you get to know them and dig more into their personality you’ll find they can be pretty honorable at times so I think the between greedy and honorable personality is the best choice for RP
I don't know where to post this, but since Goblins have been known to practice the ways of the warlock so openly I'll post in this video :D Warlocks are (In my opinion) the best RP class in the whole game, seriously, they have an insane amount of Sub-classes for almost all the races that could be warlock, for example: -Necromancer/Necrolyte (Orc Only) -Dark Mage/Wizard (from the Council of the Black Harvest or the Twilight Cult) -Thuzardin Priest (Not a Necromancer) -Acolyte (From either the Cult of the Damned, the Twilight Cult, or the Council of the Black Harvest) -Summoner (Cult of the Damned or the Twilight Cult) -Soul Harvester (Cult of the Damned or the Council of the Black Harvest) -Legion Agent ( Legion. ) -Dark Caster -Warlock [IKR?] (From the Council of the Black Harvest or a simple Rogue Warlock) -etc. Just to name a few of those.
My favourite is the so despised "heretic" as Belf who is a funny and happy person and being friends with demons instead of enslaving or serving them. Their demos also despised castaways or rebels of their race... Oh the so much hate I got for "inapropriate" RPing. XD For the Goblins it is shown in the game that they are about making fair deals with the demons instead of serving them for power or dominating them by force. In the starting quest there is a warlock questmob who can only be killed by killing his succubus first, looting his soulstone from the demon and then breaking it. This shows that there is trust between the warlock and the demon while a Warlock of an other race wouldn't dare to do such thing because the demons would kill them as soon as it get a chance.
Goblin shamans are controlling the elements with their willpower but doesn't use taints on them like the Dark Shamans of the Twilight Hammer or the Hellscrem Loyalists.
I'm making a goblin rouge who is going to be a banker. She is going to be around Silvermoon Moonguard US. She is giving flyers out for her to be their banker, any tips?
I would define the personalities as a) Money-Grubbing (will jump on any opportunity to make extra coin) and b) Professional (Still Greedy, but has work ethics.)
Was thinking about including a Hunter over the Shaman, but I figured a lot of people are confused how goblin shamans work, judging by the questions I recieve. :D
Hunter would be great actually u can have a gun and role play a gang boss dealing with problems using hot lead and it fit the archetype of the goblins being physically weak so they use range weapons to compensate
hey, considering this is about goblins, I have something on my mind that I want to share, in legion gnome hunters get mechanical pets, should goblins be able to get mechanical pets in legion aswell? because it would be a bit unbalanced if goblins dont get mechanical pets
+Michał Rogiński so the actual mechanical pets? the forums said that other hunters can get them, but they will have to find them in speciak areas, and gnomes can just flat out build them, will goblins be able to build them?
Just a thought... your videos are great and I watch your videos every time I make a new character in WoW. One thing though: you have a very heavy accent and I think it makes it difficult to understand what you're saying because you are speaking so fast. Your English is great, as are your videos, but please try to speak more slowly and clearly. Thank you!
