When I bought the boat, it had a completely unknown grayish/silver very durable but poorly applied coating on the outside along with the price of the boat written in sharpie on the side. In addition to all the bad brush marks, it had scratches, gouges and dings everywhere. I then heavily sanded it down, primed it with Pettit EZ Prime and then rolled and tipped Pettit EZ Poxy SeaFoam Green. You'll see that process here.

Materials used - 12 oz of EZ Poxy, 3 ounces of Brushing Thinner, 2 foam rollers, 4 foam brushes, 28 linear feet of painters tape, 2 mixing cups and foil for the paint tray as a liner.
