In a nutshell Design thinking workshop Planning the workshop 1.1. Set the objectives 1.2. Find space for the workshop 1.3. The agenda (Do not overfill it, base it on activity (action related)) (example: dating app) 1.4. Digital materials (watch, phone (photos, music), have some slides ready, 1.5. Physical materials (supplies (post it notes, pens, markers, paper, tape, circular dot stickers) 1.6. Snacks (fruits, nuts, healthy snacks) Conducting the workshop 2.1. Introduction (get consent for photos, ice breakers, interactive) 2.2. Empathy phase (pair them up and ask open ended questions and ask them to take notes (Saying, doing, thinking, feeling) 2.3. Define: Reframe, point of view statement, (how might we) make the product better. 2.4. Ideation phase: Make them feel they are in a safe space and draw their ideas out, stick figures, etc. 2.5. Prototype phase: Storyboard, draw out what your day looks like and what feelings you have throughout the day. OR act it out! 2.6. Test phase: Feedback, get someone new to test it for the first time. What was working, what was not working.

Wow... I guess nobody was commenting on that thing... Well, I think DT itself is still needed in 2020, as most companies are still not user focused..

Thanks for the video - I have been part of delivering design thinking workshops myself, but as I have never organised one, it was nice to have a reference video :-) I think they are definitely still relevant, but - as I work in countries other than the one I live - I think it is important they are adapted to the local cultures. I work in hierarchical societies, and so sometimes people do not share their real thoughts/opinions. There are workarounds of course, but another layer to add into how the focus groups are developed and how the workshops are run!

Design Thinking Workshops are definitely useful today. I just had a mini-seminar where the leaders told us how to use it to think about racism in schools. Your explanation was better though. ;-)

Thank you for this informative video. Yes workshops are definitely useful and still relevant today. I wonder if it would be this effective, if this took place remotely?
@careerfoundry
@careerfoundry 2 года назад
You're welcome! And to answer your question, yes, absolutely! There are numerous principles from in-person workshops you can adapt to remote ones. Especially if you're trying to make them more engaging than a regular video call.
