Trying to run a gaming/simracing/VR/workstation setup with only one pc is a difficult challenge. Especially when you have triple screens on your simrig, and several at your desk. I found a great solution that worked for me, and hopefully helps you out as well!
I am not affiliated with any products I'm using. I personally bought them myself.

I recently got a full on sim rig after falling in love with racing and loving my g920 so i upgraded. I have been searching high and low for ways to solve the issues ive been having and you my friend have FINALLY helped me with the solution after i kid you not hundreds of hours of searching and testing. thank you so, so much and what phenomenal explanations and details and great quality!

Mate you are a lifesaver. I've been looking for a way to do this for years and exactly as you'd said I'd hardly been using my sim recently due to seeming like too much effort to switch between. I now have triple 32" for my sim and a simple button click to jump over to my single 27" desk monitor. Can not thankyou enough ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for this! Works flawlessly for switching between my desktop setup and sim rig both running off my 4090 (3x DP and 1x HDMI). Sim rig - 3x LG 48" OLED's running 4k@120hz through DP - two to GPU and one to switch box. Desktop - 1x Alienware 34" Ultrawide OLED (main) running 3440x1440@165hz through DP to switch box and 1x Gigabyte 27" (secondary) running 2560x1440@144hz through HDMI 2.0 to GPU. I run a 3 ft cable between switch box and GPU, a 10 ft cable between one of my 48" OLED's and GPU, and 6 ft cables for the other two OLED's and both desktop monitors.

How is your performance using the the hdmi/display port adapters? I just ordered my first PC ever. A yeyian 4080, 13700k, 32gb ddr5 ram and I have been using a 42in LG c2 on my ps5. Absolutely love it, looks amazing setup about 75cm from my eyes. Always planned on getting 2 more for triple lg oled 42's once i got a pc but I'm not sure if not having gsync will impact performance or what other comprises id be making vs using 3 DP monitors. I'm also considering getting 2 ktc or asus rog 42in oled monitors and just running those via DP and the c2 via hdmi 2.1 to keep gsync, but I honestly do not know how important it really is or what compromises i would be making by mixing monitors. The ktc uses a lg panel so I would think they would match up well brightness and contrast wise but idk as I believe the ktc also has an anti glare coating.

@@calebwright2849 I forgot to mention my OLED's are the LG UltraGear monitors which have DisplayPort so I don't need adapters. They run at 120hz with VRR, HDR etc no issues. For triples, personally I would always get three of the same screen. Just makes it easier to setup and get the picture looking the same, looks more aesthetically pleasing overall and less compatibility issues. As the video said Nvidia surround won't work if one screen is running HDMI and the other two are DisplayPort, you'll have to use SRWE.

First of all, THANK YOU! Great video, very informative, a lot of information that will come in handy in the future. I've been searching for some solution like this for like over a month now - in preparation for my new setup that I wanna build by the end of next year. Moving to a new house, which has a lot of renovations and stuff to be done first, but eventually I'll get to my setup. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it work the way I want it to (1 or 2 monitors, not sure yet, for desktop use, and then a triple set for anything that includes a wheel). You've definitely already helped me before I even started working on it, thanks so much in advance :D Gonna save this one as reference vid for sure. Subbed as well :)

My gaming desk is using a 42" LG C2 OLED and it can be a little finicky already even with me currently using just one ultrawide on my racing rig. I use Win+P to switch from the LG to the ultrawide and it works most of the time without issue but I know going to triples will probably make that cause issues. Great setup and a clever solution. I purchased 2 of these. Having a weird issue I wanted to share inc ase anyone has experience the same and maybe found a solution. 2x PCI-E monitors on my desk (not used for sim-racing) 3x PCI-E monitors in sim rig. All the exact same monitor (LG 27GL83A-B) I have the 2 desktop monitors sharing the switch with 2 of the sim rig monitors. The 3rd monitor I turn on when I sit down to race. The weird problem I'm experiencing is I can switch to the monitors no problem, but when I'm done racing and try to switch back it just sits at a black screen for all of my monitors and I can't see anything. Spent a few hours troubleshooting trying ever possible setup configuration checking for things like displayport 1.4 cables, different USB ports, isolate the switches themselves in case one is faulty, no cables over 3.5 feet, etc. Absolutely baffled at what is causing this. Great experience besides that, I just wish they would switch back. I have to reboot after I try to switch back everytime so that the monitors come back to life lol Thinking about getting rid of the switches altogether and using the 2 HDMI 2.1 on my gpu for the left and right sim racing monitor, and then the middle monitor on display port. The 2 monitors on my desk can use the remaining 2 displayport cables and then all would be well....I think xD
@ItsMavicBrah
@ItsMavicBrah Год назад
I took a bit of a different approach. I was previously using a HDMI 2.1 switcher on my 3080 very similar to the one you showcased. That said, I use 2x 48" displays at my desk, and 3x 32" monitors for my rig so that make this switch setup a little jank. I use fiber optic cables for a long run to the rig from my desk 10m and they dont cause any issues at all like the longer copper ones do (specially with the switch). Now I have an Asus Tuf 4090 which has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and 3 DP1.4 ports. I can now run all 5 displays with no switches. My current VR headset uses USB so no concern there but if that changes I can reinstall a switch for that.

Thanks for the video! These do not have HDMI 2.1 and the LG does not have DisplayPort. I also would like to be able to use the screens (understanding there’s now only 2 active) in the sim rig to navigate windows to set up the race before I put on the headset without having to jump in and out of the seat as I can’t see my desktop monitor while in the rig. Wondering how this will impact the windows display profiles and how to set this up. Is what I’m looking for possible? Man I so wanted this to work for me but I kept getting flicker in my monitors. Using a quality DP rated cable too. My setup is a little different than yours as I dont have VR. I plugged the ultrawide to switch, one of my triples to the switch and two of the triples went to the GPU and then I plugged in the quality DP cable from the switch to the last DP in the GPU. They wouldn't switch unless the monitors were turned off manually. This worked but it would have been nice to not have to turn them off myself and for the flicker and the monitor going black for a second or two. Did I do something wrong with my configuration? Or does one of the triple monitors need to go to an HDMI input? I thought that was because you had VR additionally.
@AeroVeloce

Did you deactivate the monitors that wouldn’t turn off in windows display settings? So basically with one or two of those box switchers, I could have 3 monitors on my desk and have 3 monitors for my sim rig? Because that's been my whole dilemma for a long time. I have 3 monitors on my desk that I use to game and multitask like have discord on one monitor and game on another. But I want triple monitors for my sim rig (currently using a single TV) that I just disable when not using and then go into display settings and enable and set it as my main screen. So I'm fully capable of using 4 screens at once but I'm missing the ability to have the other 2

Hi, this video did leave me with more questions but it did make me think that what I need to do is possible, but I could really use your help. The set up that I need is not quite as complicated as yours is. I have a triple monitor set up for my racing Sim and they are 3x 32” 1800R curved 1440p monitors and I want to run a separate 800R or 1000R curved 1440 P monitor for a bed desk that is in the next room but still very close. I haven’t purchased the fourth monitor yet, but I’m looking at an ultra wide. I have an Asus Strix 3080. So technically I have all the ports. I need to run all four monitors but I’ve tried and it just gets too confusing.. I’d like to do something where I can run either. The triple monitor set it up OR the desktop…. But I simply want to switch from one set up to the other never using all four monitors at the same time, so it would be either the single monitor or the triple monitor…. I’m guessing it would still be best to use a switch…. so that windows is not trying to run all four monitors at once.? I would like to be able to game on both set ups, obviously driving and flight Sim games on the triple monitor and pretty much everything else on the single monitor if that makes sense. can you please help me figure out what I need to purchase to make this work Mr. Veloce?

I got some "8K @ 60Hz or 4K @ 120Hz" cables that actually work for all 3 of the main displays (same displays you're using, the Aorus FO48U's). But my desk setup has a Samsung G9 Odyssey 49" Ultrawide, and no matter what I try--nothing will show on that screen when I connect the same cable that works on the Aorus displays. I was originally going ot use the 49" Ultra and an Asus ROG PG348Q on my desktop setup, but I can't get the switches to show anything properly. I know you said the cables mattered--could I possibly bother you to find out which actual cables you used? So, I have a question for the setup. I noticed that only one of the sim rig monitors are on the switch. So, when you hit the button, you are only switching one display port signal from the desktop monitor to one of the sim rig monitors, correct? But if I understand correctly, the way you set it up, windows is automatically changing to the other two sim rig monitor even though you are only switching one signal. Is that all correct? How exactly to you set that up to work properly? I have a 49" g9 1440p on the desk, and 3 32 inch 1440p's on the sim rig. I am currently using software to switch between them, but it can be a pain with updates and such. I've also noticed some games being weird and not recognizing my g9 properly and giving me fps issues. Usually getting the monitors where I want them then restarting the pc fixes it. I think it's because the software is tricking the pc to thinking things are being unplugged and such. I'm not sure, but it's becoming a pain. If I can just use this switch and the pc actually switch the monitors, then I think that will take out all the trickery and manipulation from the software that I think is causing me problems. Sorry for the long post, but back to my question, how exactly did you do the setup to make this work so smoothly. I've very interested. Also, do you have any display port/hdmi cable recommendations for 1440p?

All you need to do is set up the monitors in windows display settings how you want them in each config. So for my desk I’d hit the switch to turn on that monitor. Set monitor settings and have the others deactivated. Hit the switch again to activate the sim monitor. Activate the other two sim monitors. Now windows will remember each config and all you need to do is hit the switch from there on out.

If i wanted to use 1 main monitor, 1 side monitor, and 2 TVs for the racing sim (which do not have DP cable), is it safe to go ahead and get this switch?

Depending on what cpu you have, you may be able to run one of the TVs to the motherboard hdmi port if your cpu has an iGPU in it as long as you’re not gaming on that tv. That way you wouldn’t need a switch. If not and your gpu only has one hdmi port. Then you’d need a hdmi switch. But I’d really have to know more about your set up and what each screen is being used for to make the best recommendation.

@Aero Veloce I have Intel i5 9600k, RTX 2070S, which has 3 dp and 1 hdmi. Currently, I'm using 1 of the hdmi for my TV from the gpu and 1 dp for my main display. Since I don't have space for the other TV's hdmi, I just plugged it into Intel graphics. I have ordered dp to hdmi to plug the other TV to the gpu so I can try to use the nvidia surround. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

@@kimkevin112 nvidia surround might not work with 3 non matching monitors.

Nvm! I got it to work just by connecting the other TV with dp to hdmi cable. Thank you for your replies man.
