How to run GTA IV smoothly on Low End PC and Modern PC with no lag and with best graphics settings. Optimization tips, commandline and FPS boost. - AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- 16GB RAM
- GTX 1050Ti 4GB
- 3 TB HDD
- Windows 10 Professional 64bit
For very Low End PC set Graphics settings this way:
- Texture Quality to Medium
- Reflection Resolution to Medium
- Water Quality to Low
- Shadow Quality to Low
- Texture Filter Quality to Tri-linear
- Lower the distances and density

I'm still surprised how well this game ran back on my old computer with a q9550. Having said that, this game runs even better on my new rig and have no plans on installing gta5.

I used to have an old office PC, with a Celeron G1840 and 4GB RAM. I was around 13 and was happy to have my own pc, after that I saved enough money for an HD 7770 1GB GPU, and the games I played (Far Cry 3, GTA 4, GTA 5) ran so much better just by having a GPU, and now with my new PC with a 1070 I can even run Cyberpunk, and I am grateful for it

One aspect you may wish to check out is san andreax and even gta 4 was made when only dual core processors existed and were even being used in common places.. Multicores mess the game up immensely. You should check out how to isolate process of core affinities so it utilizes only 2 cores.

those stuff in the txt file really did help. although my laptop is really low end, it goes between 40-60fps and really stable. Unlike before, it could get as low as freaking 19fps. thanks man.

It is not about how low end hardware is it is about how modern it is, the more modern game will be less and less optimized, I got a core i5 3550, 12GB RAM DDR3, and a Radeon HD 7850 1GB, and on these kind of settings I could get about same FPS if I don't record the screen

The best way to fix lag and sudden stutter in gta 4 is lock your fps to 60 using rtss, that's all and if you hate screen tearing then just turn on vsync and lock fps to 60 using rtss, boom! no more lags, trust me I figured this myself and it works Note: only turning on vsync does remove tearing and lock fps to 60 or whatever your monitor refresh rate is but it doesn't fix stutters, that's why locking fps with rtss in mandatory

Earlier I used to play GTA IV cracked version, which was not optimised well enough and lagged while playing, but recently I purchased GTA IV from steam and it was optimised and played it well without any lag.

for me for some reason the commandline file crashes my game. i had to re install the game twice because after adding the commanline txt file the game keeps crashing even after i remove it . any tips ?

how much low in "low-end" ? i ran this game (almost) fine on a igpu with a 13 7100 it was ok with mid-high setting. with just a bit higher specs than that should be good to go
