How To Safely Remove Mods/Melonloader/Clients from VRChat and other games !

Heh you know it! It honestly runs so much smoother + so many people are switching over. a dev said 10k players trying to register but servers are in upgrade process

I used the file search function on my pc to search out every file from my mods / melon loader… seemed to work for me

I made this for vrchat but to make sure it’s totally wiped from boneworks, try going to steam apps folders and find game directory folder and delete it all after uninstalling. There’s leftover traces. Can also look in app data folders

So right now, VRChat devs added a EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) in their game out of nowhere to the community. Now this update might sound good if it was a fighting game or FPS game, but since it was for VRChat where their ain't any issues of hackers only crashes, it basically means anyone who had a mod installed is banned automatically for whatever given reason. Most of the VRChat community lost all their hard works and mods cause of this update and the devs respond to the drama is to just ban the people complaining. There is a video with a better explanation but this is basically the huge summary in short.

@@Joeyo-uw6pn ? But Crashers aren't the problem, It's the fact that the mods before the Anti Cheat improved and helped with the loading time, avatar changing/finding, and prevents crashing, but the anti cheat system prevents you from adding mods into VRChat.

@@Android-Twenty-One theres money involved, they added the ac because mods make money from vrchat.

​@@Android-Twenty-One true, you don't need mods, you just need unity + sdk, a little work on the avatar and you can crash, ghost, stealth, fly, noclip. EAC has solved anything or very little and also cut Linux players out. However, the thing that scares me the more, is the fact that they want (plan) to monetize the game with some virutal currency.

How is this all over the place? and seriously, if you think this is "IT tech person" level stuff, maybe rethink using modern technoliogy, because this is the most basic fucking stuff there could be.

melonloader/version.dll might still be intact if you only reinstall and not delete anything. if you run void client you must manually delete glu32.dll to prevent it auto injecting and svh/vrtool i forgot what their proxy dlls were. best to clear everything when anti cheat is involved.

Ok but to be fair, it does feel like they're just want to take like several leaps backwards after one good step forward tho. And it's hard not to be mad. And tbh I'd say it's fair that people would turn on the team behind Vr chat. Just not to extreme lengths of doxx and ddos developers tho 😢

Why not wait to implement EAC untill AFTER those things are implemented tho, instead of carpet bombing everything beforehand, and then say "We'll get around to the feautres you already had through mods at some time"... they could have focused just as much on making these features a thing BEFORE implementing this EAC shit. then actually, if they did that, they'd not have gotten as much of a backlash.

They deserve the back, they threw their community off a cliff with eac claiming it's to get rid of the bad people, while eac literally does nothing to stop said bad people, while making the game run worse for atleast me on a quest 2, I already had like 20 fps if lucky, now I've been crashing and stuttering more, while also never getting more then 10 fps What they've done is remove community made improvements,especially avatar search, its a nightmare to go world to world for avatars but as a quest user I do, made the game run worse for certain people, brick some people's devices While doing nothing about the actual issue Adding the features are nice but it's a bandaid on a bullet wound
