Bro I need to take a class with u on this thing. I feel like I've been using it with one hand tied behind my back. Definitely alot to learn, you've helped quite a bit. Subscribed
What a delicious song, that trumpet and your sampling, I love it! I have bought my atom sq and it is on it's way! I will rewatch all your videos since the content is amazing!thanks for your time and for sharing your knowledge! You're great!
I'm a vocalist learning how to build beats. I had no idea my #AtomSQ could do this! You make it look so easy I can't wait to try it myself. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial.
That's a Hot Track Ivan - I was freestyling the whole time! Thanks for this video, you're really Hooping right now. And being Sponsored by Sweetwater, a dream come true. Keep Turning Up!!!!!
Great to watch you. I change from a MPC Studio Black to Atom SQ with Studio One 5 Artist. The SQ will arrive today :) So thank you for the instructions about this. I hope to see more soon.
You literally single-handedly convinced me to buy this damn thing on Amazon tonight...I hope you're happy with yourself. My wife is not going to be pleased with you 😓 Now I have to sub to your channel to learn how to use the thing...you're lucky you're a good teacher.
We might have to gather all of our wives and have them start a support group cause mine also gets on to me a lot about gear too 😅. Thanks for watching, Orville and welcome!
Nice, can you talk more about the humanizing button? I can't find it and I am doing this in Presonus sphere so I ought to have access to it. Yes, I liked the piece you ended up with a lot. Thanks!
Hi Ivan, awesome video on the Atom SQ, i'm probably going to buy one. Are there also Mixer modes on it so that it can be used for some basic mixing tasks like levels and panning?
Good stuff, I've been using Serato for sampling. Started out making EDM but I love making old ass sounding boom bap beats for some reason. I've only been using a midi piano for beats.
I’m not too knowledgeable in music theory I come from maschine and I’m use to being able to select Minor scales and flats on the controller there are no flats or minors on the atom sq what should I do ?
5:40 split at grid. That's a cool feature. I didn't know S1 had this. Do you have any more tuts and examples of using this this feature? This is a great idea to do with your own music. Is is possible to create a macro that does all the steps you did for this? grid, xfade, split, etc.
Very nice tutorial. I have the Arturia V Collection, StudioOne 5 and the FaderPort 8. Will the Atom SQ control the V Collection plugin synths similarly to the more expensive ArturiaKeyLab MK2? Thanks
Idk about the beat, great sample, but you made it too simple. You do know your way around the program. Props. I have an Atom with the 16 pads. I want to sample using it and Studio One 4. I really could use some help. Everyone says I make great beats but my sounds are dated. My go to DAW is still Reason 5. I know....I moved to Hawaii with and both pcs I shipped died. High altitude salt air.
With VSTis from other vendors like Arturia, NI, Uhe, etc. it doesn't work well. So bad... :( ATOM Controllers feels a bit clumsy and toyish for me. I would like to have the new wonderful and completely freely configurable!!! Cubase 12 Midi Remote Integration in Studio One too. :(
Do you think an Sq would be good for someone just learning how to make his own beats I use studio one but im strongly debating between this and the Alesis VI49 for my studio and not sure which one to get.
Loose drums were mostly a signature of J Dilla, who was a drummer and incorporated that into his beats. However, boom bap drums were more typically very tight with lots of swing. Chops were also often quantized with the same swing so they'd hit right on the drums. This really gave the beats that head nod factor as so often heard by all-time greats like Primo. With that said, though, I do think looser drums fit your musical style well.
