What a game changer. Seriously have been memorizing signal chain settings for years now and it’s been way out of hand. What I have been doing recently, which I still really like, is setting up a timeline with all tracks set the way I want, building out whatever bins or preloaded media I may want, and then placing them all in a Master bin and selecting “Export Bin”. Then I just grab that .drb file and drag it to the Master area in a new project and open that timeline and everything is ready to go. Works great for the video podcast workflow I use.
Actually backing up can be straightforward depending if it's projects...but for things like LUTS, DCTLs, and Presets...you're right...it can get complicated. However, with practice and experience, like all things in life, it gets easier.
I'm going to generalize the recipe: Dynamic Microphone, EQ, DeEsser, Compressor, Tape, Gate, Limiter. You can do this free plugins. This order keeps it sounding natural.
