He barley made the playoffs in the worst division in football 😂😂 won 1 playoff game against the eagles who were the worst team in the league statistically last 5 weeks and got bounced when facing a real team. If you want to be stuck in mediocrity baker is your guy, if you want a chance to win superbowls he is NOT at all the guy
@@gimmedaloot8168what about the browns first playoff appearance since 2002 & playoff win since Belichick was head coach in 1994??? 🤔 somebody is just a hater!
Lost job due to injury in Cleveland and got away from that cursed franchise to another one in Carolina which was terrible and never gave him a chance with that talent. So he made his own luck. Happy for him.
he walked on his college teams and then got picked number one overall..he needed this chip on his shoulder i believe. he's best when he's being doubted
@bhumibolrushing7830 crazy how some people NEED that adversity, the desire to "shut em all the fuck up". I'm much the same way. I'll remember an insult a decade ago, and wait till the perfect chance to kick open that door they tried to keep me locked behind, and then remind them exactly why I'm being "so extra". I'm a ticking time bomb, diagnosed with severe IED (intermittent explosive disorder), caused from complex PTSD. Luckily at 41, and a few years early in the military, i have learned to control the chaos within, or atleast channel it properly to avoid bleeding on the very ppl trying to help me heal
How the browns handled Baker finally showed me that the front office was lost. I was a bengals fan who followed over hue Jackson to support him then left after that 0-16 season just for Hue to join back with the bengals and get beat bad.
I got TRASHED on Twitter for ridiculing the Browns for letting him go just to chase a big name. In my eyes, Baker did EVERYTHING that fan base BEGGED to have...and they treated him like absolute dogshit, that "never quite as good as..." little brother. Baker didn't deserve that shit. Baker actually GAVE A FUCK and WANTED to be the dude to bring the Browns back to contenders. The Browns decided they'd rather still be the same ole Browns, just missing bigger swings smh The Browns deserve every drop of failure they see
@FantasyPhenoms 🤣 fair assessment, but I'm sure a Twitter search (funny enough) of my twitter, purely a personal page about whatever, would likely show equal parts deserved questions, and genuine hope dudes handling shit mentally alright, knowing he'd been "the big swinging dick" every step til now, even tho he really coulda consistently had them atleast in the hunt. Just treated like total shit by the team n 60% of the fan base. I'm kinda curious what I may have even said on Twitter now, I'm sure I've been toxic my damn self 😆
The office did. Most of us lifelong browns fans wanted to see him get every opportunity. My daughter still wears his jersey to the games. I follow him in Tampa now because he was a hell of a player. You cant fix the stupid office decisions of the Browns. It was my grandpas team, and my dads team, and so I will go down with the ship, but losing Mayfield, now losing Coop, loosing Flacco... It all still hurts lol
I never lost faith in baker. There are some guys that just have that it factor. Brady, mahomes, Lamar. Bakers run with the rams showed people “yes baker is still that guy he just needs a home” and he was given that chance in Tampa
@@isambo400yeah for now, but Lamar's got that "you gotta do watcha gotta do" additude, unlike deshaun waton. Whos complaining about having to run in games "like a rubning back"
This 98 yard drive will forever live in my head, the raiders winning was the last leg of my parlay that needed to hit. (Raiders got a penalty on a 3rd down that would’ve made it 4th and LONGGGGG for the rams 😂😂). Glad baker got paid because of this cuz I sure as hell didn’t
I used to not like baker because I felt he had a big ego, but after his rough stint through two bad organizations, it’s kinda made him seem more humble, I’m glad he’s succeeding with the bucs currently.
How can you not love Baker?? I dont care what happens in his career his heart and love for the game will always be remembered. The guy just wont give up.
Been a Baker fan since he joined Texas Tech. Happy he found a home in Tampa! He's a class act and an absolute dawg. That OU vs Texas Tech game when Mahomes was the starter was one of the most electrifying games I've ever seen in my life. No defense but still.
@FantasyPhenoms It's greatly Appreciated/ Respected! As much as I like watching Mikerphone or however it's spelt, he wastes so much of people's time now with his approach. This is much smother!!
I remember being skeptical of Baker when he came to Tampa. Somewhat pedestrian pre season, and a rocky first drive or two in the season opener against Vikings. Then it seemed something clicked and he found rhythm. I was truly won over seeing him scramble and lower a shoulder to convert a critical first down. That had me along for the ride regardless of how the season shook out, the Bucs needed a shot of life VERY badly after how unfun the year before was. By the end of year one, I think every Bucs fan with a brain was in love. Can’t express how happy I am to have this dude as my teams QB. Truly a DAWG.
Baker is one of those guys who is so difficult to hate. Cannot understand those sports pundits who try to push this narrative that Baker's just flat out bad, when the dude has only ever delivered when he's had a halfway decent team around him.
I was shocked to see what happened to him in Cleveland. Was very glad to see him get chances in Los Angeles and Carolina. He comes across as a very good dude. So, i don't really understand any of the hate he gets. Now, fast forward to Tampa this season. That undercover Bucs fans video showed how people really feel about him. I honestly don't think he realized how people care for him and his family. If it's not my Lions this year, i hope the Bucs win the Superbowl.
There is a lot of talented guys that are second string that sit behind behind a big star or don't get a chance because of coaching. Jordan Madison is a good example this year CMC got hurt and hes been doing an amazing job.
Love me some baker content. Even if baker never had that game, he’d have found a way to get back into the league. He has that same moxie that Tom Brady had, that never give up mentality. He won’t allow himself to fail. Both baker and the Bucs were down and out but hungry to prove the naysayers wrong. Can’t think of a more perfect team and fit for both parties.
We really need a revival video on Darren Waller on how he overcame addiction and saved his career and his life. If you don't have one yet I've only watched a few videos so I don't really know or not
As bucs fan I must confese that I had zero confidence in Baker. I remember my uncle telling me that he's got even more motivation now since this would of been his last chance. I think he should of been MVP last season
Bro, I may be biased cause I support the Cougs, but somehow whenever there is an in hindsight vastly underrated QB recruit they appear in a frequency that is frightening lol
Baker seems like a great guy. But is he technically to blame for Patrick Mahomes tormenting the league? Not sure if Pat would’ve gone to Texas Tech or not but who knows where he’d be if baker had stayed
Se I remember all the bakers a washed up failure shit in the media but when u actually see how highly his teammates think of him and how hard he works it makes you realise the media are the real issue
Tim Couch brought them to the playoffs in 2002, though he got injured in their final reg season game. The first WIN for the expansion Browns was with Baker Mayfield. I used to think whichever QB won a playoff game in CLE would have their loyalty forever, but it didn't even last one bad season.
@@ClumsyCatgirl To make things worse it was only a bad season because they let Baker play injured. If he was benched to heal up over say 4 games and then came back its quite possible things would have been different. The "allure" of Deshawn Watson was just too great however.
Uk what I never thought he was a bad qb but here’s my take things I noticed is number one is that when he had Odell he would throw to him in double coverage and miss him when he was open or didn’t even look his way , he didn’t have great coaching , needed more effective offensive even tho he did have Landry and Odell at one point of time but only did sum wit them in 2020 when they beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs weapons a better line , inconsistency and also a factor that could play a role is that he let his emotions get the best of him he was too cocky he start letting certain shit get to his head which effected his play bc besides not having the best help offensively or the personnel sometimes either they’re not there mentally to the point where they’re not mentally focused on the game which could effect them physically or either u thinking u better than top tier QBs who actually has more success such as more pro bowls more importantly more wins more playoff appearances and wins and also to mention that he did had an injury before but I am glad to see that he showing that he’s actually a talented player when he has actually help and not acting like ur one of the damn beetles look at what happened to Johnny manziel yea even tho college don’t always translate to the pros but if he really put much more effort than he did and actually stuck to it and actually took it serious and not just worrying bout being famous and being a millionaire he real deal could’ve been fye asf but all I’m saying baker mayfield he may not be the most mobile , don’t have the strongest arm , or he’s not gone have a 5 td 459 yd game like Brady or Mahomes but he got talent he’s clutch , even tho I wish he showed up in the much bigger games when needed especially post season games but when he puts his ego to the side , when he has actually pieces that he can work wit and that he can actually have chemistry with and actually allow them to get some space throw to his receivers not to throw in double and triple coverage and when he has great protection from the line he can win games and I hope to see him in the playoffs more often I did thought he was inconsistent but never to the point where I thought he was a bad QB I’m sorry for my lengthy response but I’m just a huge football nerd I love the game very passionate and I talk about what I notice my football iq may not be on a level of a Ryan Clark or anyone else actually played at a high level but ik enough to know what I’m talking bout uk I watch the games highlights maybe not all of em but I try to pay attention try to look at certain things I can detect
