I don’t get all the hate for this low budget wedding. I really don’t think the cost of the wedding really matter, but wether you genuinely love who you marry.

Good for them on saving money for one day. I know couples that spent 50k+ and ended up divorcing a year later and still paying for that wedding expense.

I don't mind the rest of it but the dress is a big no for me. It should be YOUR dress that represents YOU and that special moment.

The piece that woman had was an iced corner piece. The wedding cake was round! How do you not notice?? XD

Good for them! We had a free cake (my aunt bakes them out of her house), free dress (same aunt had a dress that was going to be a display when she was planning on opening a wedding cake store), free wedding venue (local park where I grew up), most of the decorations were free (leftovers from a cousins previous wedding). It can be done. Me and my husband spend about $2,500 and we will celebrate 13 years next may!

If money is the way you choose to measure love with, then I guess you'll never be happy with what you have and you'll always wish you had more. Congrats to them for choosing to measure love in moments and actual feelings towards each other and not what the next big gift or expensive thing is. Because marriage isnt just "One Big Day" and party. The party is easy and only a single day compared to the numerous amounts of days where you experience life with another being and experience every emotion. Its a lifetime of love. Not one day where you "have" to splurge on to be happy or memorable or even valid.

The flowers for the sweetheart table is genius and I just might be stealing that idea now! 😂

To this day, the most Beautiful wedding I've ever attended cost the bride and groom $1500 total. Had about 75 guests. Got married in their regular church, had the reception in the dining hall downstairs in the church They did the sheet cake thing, asked several relatives to cook food in lieu of wedding gifts (food was delicious). Silk flowers, dresses were all very practical. Photographer was a family friend (pics were beautiful). Centerpieces and decorations were all done by the bride and a few of her friends. Her relative sang, dj was good and the pastor of the church married them. It can be done if you think a little out of the box and want to have a nice event/celebration without breaking the bank.

I think it's cool to save and all but really???

My moms , friend just did their wedding in their back yard and immediately did their I do’s and the only thing that was really paid for was the food, chairs, and outside tents

The wedding dress donor looks a little psycho. And how did inside edition even find this couple to zero in on how they pinched pennies to save money on a wedding? They claim "we fed our guests fake cake... they'll never know!" I guess they will now... I wonder how much they asked to be payed for this special. If they wanted to save money they could have just gone to city court and get a license and then thrown a simple ceremony in the beauty of nature with just their closest friends and family. A union of two people doesn't need a crowd of 50+ people... that is excess, and that is what makes a wedding a costly, and a lot of the times, superficial affair.
