2022 is shaping up to be a fun year. We are praying things are smooth sailing. A quickie update - we DID get that $125 onboard ship credit on Royal Caribbean thanks to the MGM Gold promotion. Here's the info - www.mgmresorts.com/en/auth/login.html?context=%3FreturnUri%3D%252Fen%252Fmgm-rewards%252Fpreferred-partners%252Froyal-caribbean-and-celebrity-cruises.html.
That’s a fantastic deal on the transatlantic cruise. I just did a transatlantic from Miami to Barcelona on virgin solo price was $2200. I booked next year at $1380.
Thanks for another informative video! We just finished our 10th cruise and I'm actively trying to talk my husband into a repositioning cruise once we're FT travelers (#2023!) I'd love to see a video on how you handle multiple "sea days" - hubby gets bored if we have more than 1 on a week long cruise. I think it sounds heavenly! Also, keep the travel hacking videos coming as well! Trying to wrap my head around keeping track of all the points/miles/offers/statuses, plus justification of the cc fees. I don't have an issue paying them if I know I'm going to get the value, but trying to determine that for every card every year is mind boggling! You guys are awesome!!
We did a similar deal with Carnival due to my wife's Caesars status and several Chase offers - and have a great Mediteranean cruise coming up in the fall - all for less than $50/nt! Love the credit card / status matching opportunities that make travel sooo possible! Have FUN on your many cruises coming up!
@@GoWithLess It would be very awesome if we're on the same cruise - but I don't think so. We are on a r/t cruise out of Rome in early October. We'll be in Italy/Greece/Turkey on the cruise. We're planning to also so some exploring in Europe since we're over there. Having the opportunity to travel is pretty wonderful isn't it!!
Wow! Kudos on your great deals! Incredible! It's fortunate you're a couple, I wouldn't think single cruisers could pull off a similar deal. Nice graphic! Another great video. Keeping track of your credit cards sounds like a part-time job! Have you ever thought of living on a cruise line like Storylines as you explore the globe? Any concerns about gaining weight on the cruises? I've only been on a Carnival cruise once and was tempted by all the desserts. I'd love to see a video about your 30 credit cards. Obviously, you receive perks but what's your annual fee for all of them? How do you continue to get more credit cards in retirement? Also how do you handle receiving new cards if you're traveling and your mail is sent to Texas?
Tim is obsessed with credit card stuff so he manages them. It takes effort and organization but he seems to like it...or at least he likes the rewards! We paid roughly $1,800 for our annual fees in 2021. Gaining so much more so it more than makes sense for us. We are open to cruises to get around when it makes sense but I don't know that living full-time on a ship is in our plan. Who knows, maybe in the far-off future. I'm interested in how we'll do with European ports + cruise ship food. This could be dangerous! Tomorrow's video should be of interest to you.
About full time travel, how do you two handle dental health issues? I would think any mobility issues would impact enjoyment, but I think dental should be something that needs attention.
We’re definitely not cruisers, but sounds like you guys got some awesome deals! Those AmEx and Chase Offers can really add up since you can stack with other offers. Can’t wait to see some videos of the places you go in 2022!
Our transatlantic from Rome to Florida was one of my favorite trips of all time. We discovered Madeira on that cruise, which was never on our radar. We had a random taxi driver take us to his favorite local restaurant and we had one of the best meals of our life, in the most idyllic spot in Madeira. I still dream of that day.
I suggest not to lose your mind with the dinning on the cruises given the number of days you will be aboard. I’ suggest creating some rules before you board such as I will eat healthy 6 days a week and one day a week I will splurge.
It is always great to see people save money on cruise fares, there are a ton of ways. But in the intro you said no cash back or casino relationship status but then you brought up all the perk relationships. Made me go hmmmm. Save the money and enjoy the trips. Good on you. Love cruisin'.
Avid cruiser with Carnival. My wife has to eat gluten-free and Carnival takes care of this 110%. Carnival is awesome at catering to people with special dietary needs. We tried another cruise line once and we’re gravely disappointed with their service toward special dietary needs.
We did a repositioning cruise from Tampa to New York City with southern caribbean ports. We did not know that the NCL Dawn then went over to southampton, but we did 4 nights in new york city. Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn near Penn Station, for 4 nights. We took a train back to Tampa. I think air travel will likely be expensive, once you are over in Europe. Best of luck.
We love to cruise! I am jealous of your cruise plans this year. Would love to do that as well. We have been on 10-15 cruises and our favorite line so far is Princess and NCL. Can't wait to get back to cruising after all this 'stuff' is over. Have fun and looking forward to your videos on board.
Never met a cruise I didn’t like 😎 Multiple cruises on Royal, Celebrity, NCL & Carnival. So far Celebrity and NCL are my faves. You will absolutely love, love, love!
I am not sure if cruising is for me yet, but the note and photos from this group has me wanting to try one. Row, row, row your boat.....And I'm glad to finally hang with you in real life! :)
@@GoWithLess we left out of Barcelona, then we stopped at Nice, Florence, Rome, Venice, Naples, Dubrovnik (I think I remembered them all..it was a 14 day cruise)
We love to cruise! Our problem, we (more me) will not stay in a room lower than a Jr Suite. 🤷 I know people say you sleep and are only in your room a short time. I've always said, I want to be comfortable while there. Your trips sounds amazing - have a blast!
Wow! I don’t think the cruise lines or the credit card companies give Canadians anything near the level of perks and incentives you’re able to receive. Maybe someday. Good for you!
We love cruising! What an impressive feat . I am not sure that in Canada we have those kind of credit card offers, but I am all over getting the deals out of the cards we do have!
We have booked 5 cruises through COVID. We hope to continue to like it when we retire at the end of the year. Capacity will be back up and deals will be different. We hope to transatlantic in spring and transpacific for Christmas in Oz. 🥂
Hi Amy and Tim - great video! Sounds exciting. Amy, I love your nails, and you guys look especially youthful in this video. I purchased a wet suit so I can go back to the beach. It should be here by next week. I've been out of the water for 3 weeks but I couldn't take the cold water. See you next week. Be safe!
Great video! Have cruised twice on Carnival, once on Royal Carib. How do you figure out what status you can match to another? Mine are primarily casino, Hilton, Avis, Southwest Air.
Tim is engaged in the travel hacking space every day so he's on top of it. One place that might help is in the GoWithLess Facebook group. There's a Friday travel hacking post each week where members share their wins. This sort of thing can come up there.
Only been on a few cruises typically with our kids so Carnival was our choice. However this year over spring break they have other plans and we got a ridiculously cheap offer. 2 people, balcony room. 8 days just over $1000 that includes gratuities.
@@GoWithLess leaving Galveston. Hitting Cozumel, Belize & Roatan. Been on this trip before and loved it so trying a new ship with a tried and true itinerary
I cruised the South Pacific islands and Australia for 7 months. 2 things shocked me. I didn't know that the Great Barrier reef was dead and that they play Reggae music in every port... including Papua New Guinea and Figi... hahaha. Internet is expensive on the ship but okay at the port cafes.
Depending upon where we are in Europe, absolutely. The US is shockingly pricey these days. Part of why we're planning to be out of the US for 8-11 months a year.
Hey, we might be able to go on one of them with you. IM me with the dates and we'll see if one works into our schedule. It would be an awesome meet up.
Yes, gratuities are included in the prices. I misspoke on cruise #3 and added a note onscreen with the correct price WITH gratuities. The correct price is on the slides.
