How to save Paladins? 

All genuinely great criticisms. I genuinely hope someone listens to you from HiRez. But alas... paladins will die... I'm sorry...

I've never seen Paladins' ad and honestly never thought about why it didn't exist. I found this game because a friend told me to try it, and I liked this game.

Yeah ads are important i found paladins RANDOMLY looking through steam to find a game to play and here i am today

the last time i saw a paladins ad was when maldamba released and that's what got me playing, because i was an overwatch player looking for other hero shooters and thought it looked interesting enough to try. in 2016. I havent seen a single ad for the game anywhere since lol

the reason why hirez doesnt advertised with their streamers is because people only watch the steamers because they play paladins. the reason i am here is because of paladins, i dont play paladins because of kreepers. now if you advertise the product and the people consume the product but dont like it, they will leave and hirez knows this. Paladins doesnt have a ad problem, they have a community service problem, people are leaving. oh and toxic fanbase is not unique to paladins, go play cod why are they still successful.

As a paladins player since beta I never saw a paladins add unless I went out of my way to find it. I found out about the game from a Gameranks top 10 hero shooter video. It's a miracle anyone finds out about this game outside of word of mouth

I lost all respect for Hi-Rez, this company can burn to the ground for all I care. Hi-Rez is a poor company with dumb, greedy, incompetent people running it. I feel bad for Evil Mojo who are clearly passionate and trying their best to keep the game afloat while being given pitiful funds, laughable deadlines and severly understaffed. Once, I'm completely over Paladins, I will never EVER play a Hi-Rez game. The best possible outcome for Paladins is to be sold off to a better, well-funded company.

As a Brazillian player, we from tha SA region feel abandoned since we don't have anyone present on the partners program to actually have a voice in game. The results? Server is loaded of hackers, people exploiting bugs and of course, lots of toxicity. What amazes me the most is those people never gets banned but a friend of mine, which never did any of those things got perma banned trough mass report. The administration part of the game is completely gabage.

I know this is probably a bad example but bringing back the old battlepasses, letting the players grind the free track for the free rewards and then make it available to purchase the premium track for a little bit less money than the current battlepass, I believe it's a great idea, IMO. Halo Infinite does this, I think For Honor also does this and it honestly kept me engaged for a long long time, cause there's something to grind for. Of course I've been playing Paladins alot recently but it's because I don't have the Gold Skins and I wanna grind for that but after I'm done, I probably have nothing to grind for and will probably stop playing the game. Battlepasses don't mean anything to me, because I don't wanna get tied to a game for a limited time. I wanna enjoy the game whenever I want and not only while the Battlepass is live. I even bought an event pass once and couldn't finish it due to IRL stuff so that money is basically lost already. But, I still enjoy watching Paladins videos and playing the game.

I agree with everything stated in this video except the ping system. The issue I have with the ping system is the in paladins we have Reveals, DOT and dealing damage to enemies shows their outlines so to me a ping system in paladins is redundant. I understand its in Overwatch but in Overwatch the ping system feels different and somehow feels good in Overewatch but I don't know how I feel about it in Paladins.

One feature I would like to see in Paladins is something that I haven't seen in other objective first person shooters. Something like an indication on the players heads up display to indicate how far off their teammates are from the objective. That way players won't have trouble over extending and make better team play decisions. Maybe something like a linear graph with character's portrait images and the distance from the objective. It dosen't have to be a map, but a clear reading on if you're alone or not in the fight.The return of toggling Third Person View is great too.

True! I've been with Paladins since 2018 but they really lack marketing and advertising. Some free games like Valorant still advertise a sh*tload everywhere even though you already have the game already. Paladins need a game plan on how they will hype the game to the public, because honestly I really loved Paladins and thin it's way better than Valorant or Apex or Overwatch but asian servers, or most servers lack players at the point that I even need to wait atleast 15-30 mins just to have a match. They really need to increase their user quantity that's why they need to hype it like everyf*ckingwhere

If anything this last update was pretty successefull in bringing people back, I found a lot of returning people including myself last update.

To me with lag and bugs it makes the game complicated to play and the many disconnections are highly frustrating. I think the devs should concentrate more on making the game more viable by the overall functionality of the system that makes you play a certain champion. Paladins is a good game by all means though the other side shows the insidious playstyle of lags and bugs. The reason why I enjoy the game is because of the fun gameplay and interesting playstyles of the talent system, where you can change your character's playstyle that rewards you at the end. The actual characters are so interesting and more imaginative than Overwatch 2, for example you can play as an anthropomorphic talking magical bomb (Bomb King), a flightless greedy dragon (Drogoz), a walking old tree (Grover), a giant maneater space worm (Yagorath), and a lighting obsessed orc (Grock). The game has a lot of potential, though will the devs hold up on making new skins and fix the quality of the game than the quality of new skins? Though, if Paladins dies so be it and just move on.

personally the thing that kept me playing paladins was my frinds and the skins that thunder brush desgined the seconde he left and the skins got way less polish i was sure the game was going downhill

I never stopped playing paladins but my biggest issue is being able to have people in The community to connect with. I know motr players would help alot but i just want tonfind a groupnor and easybplace to just be with people. Though i always had this problem even with overwatch inless you already knew people

New game motor better servers and a better fucking support team

Me personally, I feel the one and only category that paladins lacks in is graphics and polish. The roster right now is fine and relatively balanced (except VII). I think a complete graphical overhaul and maybe some minor gameplay functionality or map tweaks to make the game feel better to play and be nicer to look at.

Hi-Rez advertisement department or whoever is in charge is so shit that don't even know how google advertisements or criteo works, and they still pay him a shit ton of money for his non existent work...

I used to play Paladins religiously. That was the first game I hit 600 hours on steam, then was beat my current game DeepRockGalactic. I had SO much fun with Paladins, I literally BOUGHT most of their skins/most of their achievements (not counting the early access achievements), my favorite character was Kinessa, she's so cool. But after a while, I got tired of it, not sure why, but I never bothered actively playing it anymore. I logged on about a month ago, and noticed various UI changes, and ofc the new characters, but I just couldn't get back into it really. It's a really good game from what I played but not sure why I cant get back into it. I know for SURE Overwatch 2's shenanigan's brought new people into the game.

I thought that the "save paladins/Hate Hirez" videos on RU-vid were finished long time ago and... Oh suprise! Here we are in 2024 with another one of the same style with the big label of "it can be easly fix adding this and that" but to be honest... like any other opinion around here, nobody knows how exactly if these "solutions" might do real impact or not fo the final product... (and directive/corporate people knows this high risk) BTW to clarify (and cure myself from any nonsense/hateful response) Kreppers mentioned A LOT of facts, like business model and issues/bug/marketing that happens with paladins and I agreed 1000% on that.(except for the streamers stuff mentioned, but my opinion there is complex to explain here lol) But the possible solutions to save the game keep the same line of the illusion from years back... with nothing more like "add stuff" without base knowledge of how complex might be in real scenarios(And i mean it, some times in tech stuff you can say, that shit is easy BUT that minor/tiny/little change can be quickly transformed into a big cluster fuck of bugs and unwanted errors even for the most experienced senior devs) Like everybody else that loves the game and enjoys to waste time playing it, I just hope they could maintain it better, give some realistic solution with all the current complexities that the project already have(I just can't imagine that disgusting source code). The big real solutions is a total rework on a new engine with best industry practices but... we all know that isn't going to happen... sadly

Gonna just put this out here since it's Paladins related, I don't think this game needs to be saved. This is not because I don't like the game I love the game I think it's great, I play it still today. In my opinion there is no comparison, Overwatch or Paladins, I'll go to Paladins every single time, look at Steam Reviews, most of the reviews for Overwatch are Negative while the reviews for paladins are all positive The only positive comments are about the NSFW stuff, not the game play, or the player base. I never deal with toxicity in Paladins, I have fun even when I lose because Paladins is a fun and enjoyable game.

There are many peoblems in paladins. 1. Is the sevice, they ban people like never. Even if they leave instantly. 2. Autoaim cheats with high fps, etc. in game. Thats just... no words. 3. Bad anticheat, so many people have cheats. 4. Other people can crash you witch sprays and whatnot. Tf? 5. Bugs and even much worse, game crashes while in a round bc of bugs 6. Champs/Loadout balancing. Talents and cards are boring if everyone just plays the same load out. And there are still champs that are so bad that you get flamed... 7. Adds. We all heard it🔝 8. Not much to grind🔝 9. Bad "Money-making" it feels like seeing so much stuff to pay, but then there is not that many good things (do i say. I only paid once 20€) 10. Don't seach for good solutions. They dont get there Imagination on that often. No new system 4 picking champs in rank. (Not even the possibilitie to see the champs people "show") (or a rolle that just shows your main champs for one role) ballancing has the same problem. There are champs that have so much pasive stuff and can do anything and then there is skye, moji etc. were you can just win with a good comb or a few champs that are bad. I Imagination to change them big while not deleting/buff/nerf all old and loved playstyles. I got it in my own "priority list" but the "10." Can be seen as number "0." It is in every problem from 1. - 9. Present. I hope they start the code all over and resolve the most problems. Sayin it is Paladins 2 fixes the add problem for short. And focus on moneymaking and balancing all their champs and loadouts. The only thing the realy should keep are the champs, cards/talents, map's and skins. Everything else is (theoretical) instantly fixable. Champs, etc. need to be slowly pached with the community.

We been asking that question for years.. the answer its simple but sad: Hirez doesnt care, the game has less budget each year, it feels its near 0 at this point, man the announcer been bugged for like 2 years? its depressing, this Anual update was terrible, compare the steam charts with previous anual updates, F. Ads are important but even if they would start advertising nobody will play now, cause its a extremely outdated game, they always refused to invest in improving their old game so advertising wont do anything at this point.

better advertisement to increase the player count like ads/get popular RU-vidr to steam/make video on and give a free skin code for everyone that watches the video/stream, a better shop maybe like Fortnite's 🤷‍♂, make bots smarter on open matches and ranked, better optimization to make the game run better which will hopefully bring the switch servers (i want to play the game again and see all the skins i earn and my limited drogoz/season pass skins 😭), bring the AOC back it gave the playerbase a voice to talk to the Devs

Perhaps content creators that are more about trying new games out rather thsn those focused on a specific game would work better. People who already play Paladins won't _start_ playing it, and for content creators for other games, when they make videos out of their niches it is barely watched or served, and the people who watch their channel are usually more or less focused on that particular game.

How to save Paladins? You can't. Though I have to say that the lack of adverts is something that is like a wish for the game to just perish at some point, you have to let new players know that the game exists if you want to keep making money off it. I won't say much about the community handling, but they'd be certainly way happier if they'd be listened more when it comes to bug fixing and stuff like that. I'd kinda would like to be able to play on Linux, it sorta falls under similar umbrella - when EAC didn't work for some reason and didn't kick out the Linux players outta match, there was like no excuse. The game itself actually works, but is artificially disabled.
