As soon as you start pursuing an art career, the time you spend making art drastically decreases. From marketing yourself to creating content to organizing everything and tracking business expenses, there's a LOT that goes into building and maintaining a small art business and creative career.
And as soon as I realized I was spending more time doing all of the boring admin stuff and making less art, I knew I had to find time saving solutions. The video editing tools sound legit life-changing! One of my main hang ups about starting to upload videos is that editing takes FOREVER. I'm going to try these first chance i get!

It seriously saves so much time!! I don't use Descript & Recut all of the time but when I'm frustrated with the video or if it had loads of bad takes these are great to weed through them fast and get a rough cut!

Thank you for making this video!!! I had no idea these tools for video editing existed. I'm starting my to take RU-vid a little more seriously and one of my pain points was how long it took me to film and edit my videos. I’m pretty sure that by now, your audience and community realize that some of your videos are about the business side of being a pro artist (or whatever it is we’re pros at), and other videos are more about the art themselves. I encourage you to never apologize when you’re doing your best to provide the valuable content that you work so hard to share with us. “Flashy” is cool and all, but I’m fan of what you have to say (and your art), and the transparency with which you do it. Thank you for talking about Wingspan in this video. You’re one of the first Creators I’ve seen, who discusses the importance of taking care of the tax obligations we have as entrepreneurs. I’ve been in biz for myself for literally decades, and only recently figured out that hiring a CPA was something I should have done way back when. Using a tool like Wingspan to help me keep track to the day-to-day money part of my business will certainly relieve a lot of stress from my life, and will help my CPA’s Team better understand the flow of my income and expenses. I think you gave a great intro to that product, especially, and would appreciate a more in-depth video on how that is working for you, if you can manage that without divulging the numbers you need to keep private, obviously. I’d also never heard of of the other two you’d mentioned, but I have to watch again to catch those, because once you got to Wingspan, that’s all I could concentrate on. That is, until you apologized for the lack of flash, and then I had to drop into your comment section to suggest that you stop that. You’ve got nothing to apologize for. You’re an Artist & a woman running her own NON-Starving Artist business. AND you take time from your day to share what you’re doing and how you’re doing it with the rest of us who are smart enough to recognize tremendous value when we trip over it. So, know your value. Don’t apologize. Do what you want, your way. I thank you for allowing me to ride along and watch what happens. Cheers to you and all you do! ✌️

I hadn’t sketched in at least a couple of years, and certainly I’ve not done so with any regularity. These days, I’m thinking of myself more as an artist who also sells real estate, instead of an agent who sometimes makes art. Thanks for helping me get my priorities back into alignment with my purpose. 😄

And… last week, I decided to shift even more! I decided to dive deeply and full-time into making art and creating content for my channel, shifting my real estate career to entirely referral-based. I’m so inspired by you that I decided to share my journey too. And, though you and I have similar stories in some areas, we’re also vastly different in others, including the fact that I am more than twice your age, yet you’re a whiz at talking and writing and organizing and… how you “get” how Notion works and make it work for you and… so many things, actually. i def made more art years ago when i didnt have to do the 'boring' stuff that come from being an artist full time, but the 'boring' stuff needs to be done i've tried using notion but im old school it seems and just get one better writing a schedule and notes in an actual planner

Hello 😊. I love watching your videos as you give me new ideas to try to start working on at times I feel I want to give up my art as a career. I do wish you'd include information in the video if all these tools have a cost (like you had with Descript), what the cost is at the time of the video, and/or if they are freeware and open source.

You're right, that would've been great to include. Most things I listed are completely free, but Tubebuddy, Descript, and Recut have paid plans.

I tried finding a link to your Koji page so I could fill out the video suggestion section but couldn't find it. My question/suggestion is: if you think you are the first one to create content a certain way (I can't find any videos with the idea I have so far) how would you go about tagging it and things so people can find it or what would your process be if you thought you were the very first person in a content niche? Hello there! I have been inspired by your channel for quite some time. It has taken me a while to decide, but I think I am going to start my own art channel sometime soon. I have figured out a lot of the materials I’m going to use, but I don’t have a microphone yet. I wanted to ask you if you can tell me what mic you use at the moment? I love the way your audio sounds and I have been looking around for microphones, but I don’t have honest reviews on them. Thank you!

yeah! I use a Rode Video Mic Go, it just goes on the hot-shoe mount on the top of my camera and has a cable that plus into the side. I've had zero issues with it and love the way it sounds, but sometimes add a De-esser effect in post production to eliminate harsher sounds.
