Nah. I grew up hearing most of these brands but I learned the French brands the French way because I learned French growing up. I was just wondering how most Americans would pronounce the French brands. I don't want to sound pretentious by pronouncing it the French way hehe
so you're basically stating that NO ONE in the whole world might be tempted to say gwess. Are you omniscient? For the record I teach English in France and I've heard students say gwess, then my eardrums bled... Anyway, next time think twice beforetalking about things you don't know.
Hi have the opinion that brand names supposed to be read and have the Pronunciation the way they say it in a country where the brand comes from ..example:Versace Usually it’s somebody’s lastname and I think it’s very rude and disrespectful to pronounce it the way it’s “comfortable for you” based on the country you living if this is somebody’s name you should spell it right and appreciated the way this person do it by himself otherwise it’s very low level and uneducated.
Think people have misunderstood the point of this video. It is how to say the words with ENGLISH pronunciation, not the way it would be pronounced in their respective countries. It says so, right there, in the title.
guys its American pronunciation of these brands. although the names may have different pronunciation in the original language, i think this video is meant to show the common american pronunciation.
In Spanish the " o " is not pronounced as " ow ". It is simply an " o ". Your Manolo sounds like Manowlow when it should just be Manolo. Mango should also be pronounced as Mang not Mae/Mayng and the go at at the end is not pronounced as " Gow " just go " but not with a " w " at the end.
There are many brands pronunced wrong so much as: Cloe and Hermes (French fashion names should be pronunced like french words), Dolce & Gabanna (doesnt have -and in pronunciation)
Why many people think that they gonna become rich or classy just by pronouncing these brands that mostly have their factories in china? 🤣🤣😂...nothing like having your own taylor man and design your own
There must be a part two or more of this video. She missed so many more brands! At least off the top of my head: Christian Louboutin, Lanvin, Longchamps, Cartier, and M+FG(Marithé + François Girbaud) for the French brands.
I kept getting notifications on this topic. Well, as long as people can instantly understand what you are talking about, doesn't really matter how you pronounce. The smarter the person you are talking to, the less they care about your language background and the faster they can recognize your mispronounce word. The less cerebral person will be scrutinizing your outfit and your accent, race origin, etc. Just focus on doing well with your profession and living, so less and less you need to do involve in trivial matters like this unless this directly related to your daily job and foucs . Cheers!
I legit only came to hear Versace cuz me and my friend were like nice versachi glasses and the boy wearing them turned around real slow and said “it's pronounced versai” and I was like we'll see about that fam
ThewayICit Because if you pronounce the "right way" in US, people will likely don't understand you. The same goes to every country you may go in the world. You just have to learn to pronounce stuff in the vernacular language (even if it may be the "wrong way"). Nobody is teaching the whole world, like he/she was saying: "Hey, whole population of the world, this is the right way". IMO
No it is adeedas cuz it’s a German brand and that’s how they pronounce it so u usually u go with the country It’s like Gucci u pronounce it guchi not guc-ci
lol....well...the title does say - How to pronounce it in the 'American' accent. not necessarily in its original language. so i guess she's right in that sense :-P :-P :-P
how about this- Colleziones/ko~ lez- zyo-nes... its a polo shirt brand in the Philippines, very nice to wear....a lot of color and styles to choose from!!Colleziones!!try it!
Why the fuck would you pronounce FRench or any other languages for that matter in English, when all the other people have to pronounce American brands in their accents to be understood
Another Useless Username any other language/company could do this plus WHO CARES! People are acting as if, if they mispronounce anything it's the end of this earth. Calm down. Things like Louise Vuitton. Someone in the comments said it was sounded Lewy Vwetton but someone had to explain that the one in the video was correct from its germanic descent. If your really upset about it, change it for god sake.
The Spanish ones are incorrect. It is not 'zara but "Thara" with the first sound as in "thing". It is not Mangou, but Mango with a final simple short sound as in "log". The same happens with both "o" in Manoulou, which sound as a short O. Actually in Spanish we just hace 5 vowel sounds, A as in cat, E as in men, I as in hit, O as in log, U as in "spoon" but with a shorter sound.
+asunagullo People from Spain pronounce the Z as an Th. Zara would de "thara". But people from America say it like the middle between the s and the Z. It's sounds like " Sara" It's hard to explain in here. If you live in Europe you'd probably learn the pronunciation of the Z as an Th. But if you live for example in the USA you'd probably learn as an S. It's correct what was said before. But this is something like a complement. Bye. 😊
"Versaci" ahuauhhau of you come in Italy and ask for Versaci someone could make you a Grimace auhuhauhahua only 1 question, other people already ask, why teach the INCORRECT pronounce to other people? thanks BYE!
