This is exactly what I wanted. I followed along and set up the shutdown. When I program for the startup I will let you know how both work. I want the auto start/stop so I can be more disciplined with my computer use.
Love this! I just set the shutdown timer. I really hopes this works. Computer is supposed to be shut off at 10:30 everyday. However, this does not always happen. Now the computer will shutdown and I won't have to stay up and argue. I can just go to bed and forget about it!
Make a tutorial on how to turn on and off your computer remotely, using SSH and Wake-on-LAN protocol. I got it on my system and it works great. Works on Windows and Unix based systems (Linux, *BSD..).
I have questions: 1. About the starting up the computer automatically, what happens if you want to turn your computer on ahead of time? Does it RESTART the computer when the auto start in the BIOS scheduled time is triggered? 2. Do you also have a tutorial on how to start a certain program/s? Let us say, u want to open 3 different browsers by just one click in the Desktop. Something that these programs are on in one folder and one click they will start (regardless of they are browser or software) I hope it makes sense
Please do a video on this upcoming windows upgrade to a new version of the operating system and is Microsoft already doing things in the background because my computer has been acting weird the past week...
Not sure if this will be seen, as it is two years old. But first off, thank you very much for the info. Second, is there a way to do these processes but have the PC SLEEP instead of SHUTDOWN? I particularly enjoy the desktop shortcut option. Many thanks regardless.
Can we start PC from shutdown for more than 1 time by BIOS?(I want to start for 2 time daily) If yes, then how ? If no, then is there any other way to do that ?
Used the shortcut one. When I double clicked on the short cut it quickly listed some information on the command screen then it closed. But I noticed it said something about failed in there. Could t read it though as it was so quick. I clicked on it again. If it works does that mean becuase I clicked on it twice it will shut down double the length of time time I put in?
Will the automatic shut down work if laptop is in sleep mode? Asking because I forget to shut down computer and end up leaving it on sleep mode overnight.
My laptop won't update. I tried everything to make it work. Even I made a windows 10 Media image. It have an error code and missing important security or something. Thank you.
Guys is it working for you? I set the timer in BIOS to start the computer each day (0) at 9:00 but when I turn the PC off it won't start the next day - any ideas? 🙂

Every night I leave my computer on, so I’m more concentrated on how to save power and get it to shut of every night to stop my computer over heating, I’m not to worried about when it starts up
Thank you! But it doesn't really answer my problem. I want to use a shutdown, with like a 5-10 min warning before hand, as a way to get me off the computer and not stay too late. I would be scared just shutting down like this everynight would hurt my pc with a bunch of stuff opened.
Most of the free softwares are also on their official sites. Paid ones is a no brainer. So, what do you want to download? The best thing is to check whether the site from you are downloading is not fishy. I'd recommend you to use VirusTotal to check.
