Direct Tax Strategy for CA Final - Personal Best!
• Lectures: When it comes to lectures, it's best to avoid lengthy ones. Instead, focus on two key aspects: Making detailed Concept Notes and Filtering Questions.
• Resources: Start your preparation with concept notes and ICAI Module Questions. Consider using Question Bank only after completing majority of the syllabus. This approach ensures that you cover all key concepts and reduce the number of questions left to be marked.
• Self Study: Initiate your self-study phase only after completing all subjects' lectures. When studying a chapter, begin by reading its concept notes thoroughly. If you encounter a particularly challenging topic, consider watching a revision video specific to that topic. This targeted approach not only saves time but also enhances your understanding of concepts.
• Time Allotment, Mock Test & Revision:
- In the initial phase, allocate 15 days for your first reading. Focus on understanding the concept notes, revisiting revision videos for difficult topics, and filtering out questions.
- After 15 days, take a mock test. Many students make the mistake of not adhering to their study schedules, leading to unnecessary extensions. Mock tests act as a reality check, motivating you to study more effectively to achieve better scores.
- Follow the ABC strategy: prioritize A category, then B, then C. Even if you finish A&B chapters within 15 days, proceed with your mock test, and keep C category chapters for your second revision. Avoid extending the 15-day study period.
- For subsequent revisions, reduce your study time by half each time. Focus on revising previously ticked questions and challenging topics. This systematic approach ensures that you have fewer questions left to review in the final days leading up to your exam.
• Special points: Prepare Working Notes for every calculation, below each point (not separately all together). Theory WN are to be prepared only for Q1. Solve questions in full rupees. Look for applying optional scheme in every question. In case of NR, remember to add HEC@4%. While calculating tax, always see age!
• Exam Days Strategy (2.5 days):
• Paper 6 exam day: DT conecpt notes till Charitable trust
• 1st Leave till eve: Full DT concept notes
• 1st Leave EOD: Full IT notes
• 2nd Leave till Noon: Again Concept Notes from TDS/TCS till whole IT
• 2nd Leave EOD: All Marked Ques and extra content
• DT Exam Day: LDR, then Concept Notes from TDS/TCS till whole IT!
• MCQs: Your concept notes should cover most of the MCQs. Try watching videos for ICAI MCQ compiler and save time by not solving on your own.
• Exam time planning: Refer to my previous video for a detailed strategy on planning your 15 mins & 3 hrs effectively.
Remember: It's better to cover 60-70% of the syllabus twice than to cover 100% once. You've got this! 💪
Note: This strategy is based on my personal experience and may vary for each individual. Find a strategy that works best for you and stick to it consistently 💪
