I love this idea and I needed this cuz I just did my niece's box braids for back to school and her ends look horrible! I'm going to do this now, you're so clever! Thank you
Well i did it. I braided my hair and sealed my ends with my very small flat iron - omg it worked fantastically, im so excited!!!. i will be braiding my hair more often now❤ thank you so much.
Have the same problem with the ends of my hair and couldn't figure out why since I kept dipping it in the boiling hot water for so long. Thank you so much for this solution because I hate lighters! Your hair looks fabulous by the way.
Oh you do not know how happy you made me with this!! My 7 year old wanted long box braids for school pics and I want to seal them completely (she plays very rough and often gets hair tangled). The LAST thing I want near this child is an open flame! Thank yoh so much for showing how to do this with a chi iron (I have one)!!
I know this video is pretty old but just came across it :) it is a GREAT idea!! Thx for sharing. I got braids done yesterday for the first time and I had to go back today because she didn’t do them right and even till summer coming out because they weren’t properly sealed I guess she just wrapped some hair around the ends and did the hot water tip but it didn’t hold cause here it is a day later after going back and still some are coming undone so I have to try to fix it myself. Suck cause spent 200 and I was even cool about going back in but now it’s just ridiculous after that I have to look up videos and fix it myself lol
Exactly that's why I do my own hair now, I got charged over $300 for several failed appointments smh! I use nail glue to seal the braids, the good ole fashioned way
Yasss thanks for showing me a better way.. Bout set my whole dam house on fire messing around with the blow torch. I usually let em be free but I love the sealed look.. U look great and enjoy your color explorations 😄 Gna be fun
Nothing wrong with you choosing to do your whole head that color, it may look fierce. Like storm but with braids I actually love it, love the look you have now too 💛✨
Great idea. Way better end result than the lighter method. And the color looks nice. More of the platinum will look nice too but probably better with dark roots, But who knows, try both.
Hey there thanks a bunch straight up this helped me alot..my braids looked and felt to heavy so I was going to give up and chop them out..but seen this and had 2nd thoughts..cut them shorter and damn I'm loving it..this was so helpful..💜🖤💜🖤
I have been looking for a solution, and this looks like a really good one. I have the ends of my brand new braids burned and the damn burned ends keep getting stuck on the other braids pulling out the hairs of the other braids... is a pain and the braids are just 3 days old! Hopefully this flat iron thing works :) Thanks!
Yes! I just braided my daughters hair for the first time and the hot water just didn't work and the ends of hers are a light purple so burned ends look really awful and I got alot of burns from the melted plastic 😂 thankyou!!
Burning ends may be an unhealthy choice because bad fumes may possibly be released when plastic is burned. Braiding hair is made of modacrylic fibers which is are two types of plastic; vinyl chloride and acrylonitrile. You can look up the material on kaneka.com, kankelon's website.
next time u do them and u want to dip the ends u should stagger the hair a bit before u braid each braid... the end will taper and it will look great when u dip!
Jackee F Yea it does change the smell a little, you might notice the smell if you get close to someone who has recently burnt the ends of their extensions. But I think the smell goes away after a few days unless you just sniff the braid, then you’ll smell it.🤷🏽♀️
I guess it could work due to the hair melting. I'm not sure. Never tried that. I'm also trying to imagine you hair style and length. I'm sure it's super cute.
so the hot water thing? you just braid until the ends, let go and dip in hot water and that’s supposed to seal them? I don’t buy it. I’m using my natural hair as well;) usually people use rubber bands to tie off the ends of the braids but what do you use or what do stylists use? does some kind of product hold the braids in at the ends??
I love the braids And allways have the ugly ends, somethimes with rubbers but still, someone tell me to try a hot glue gun And make a little "bead" on it but i don't want to kill my synthetic hair. I will try your method right in the morning. Thank you for the tip. 😊
i had my braids 3 days ago and they are too damn long (waist lenght) so i want to cut them shorter and ill try the flat iron trickto seal them thank you so much! i hope the braids wont unravel because i want to keep them for a month
