I keep my cork sealer in a ziplock bag, keeping it from drying out. You been doing the cork sealer videos for awhile now. Nice to see a product that works and that lasts a long time.
I’ve had a beard since 2004. One time, using the head adjustable clippers to trim it, I put it at the lowest setting. Had my beard back in a week. Luckily I was on vacation.
I saw you older video you put out about the u-40 about a week before I order two dobyns rods and was so glad I did.. the foam paintbrush works amazing(no mess) and the cork looks great after.
They look great after the yrs. Due to lack of funding I don't have any rods with cork handles but if I happen to get some I'll know how to take care of em. My uncle used to use something similar to Thompsons water seal back about 15 yrs ago, but I can't remember how good it worked
I have two Ugly Stik rods I used one coat on one rod & two coats on the other. The one with one coat still looks like it did from the factory but the one with two coat’s has a nice beautiful gloss look, they both still have the cork feel..
Man... got the U40, and sealed my 13 Fishing Omen Black rods, and a couple others, I love cork handles, just the drying and eventual chipping bugs me a little. Thanks for this video brother, I'll be alot more comfortable buying cork handled rods in the future!!!
Thanks for the update yep U-40. Just pr- ordered crazy 7’6 ML spinning rod definitely going to seal it once unwrapped. Find myself cleaning and sealing every other year. BTW is that maricle gro in back ground? Yep Beka at it again! If you have a chance can you go over replacing and rapping line guides? Thanks!
I got some of that U-40 on my rod and it won't come off. It would probably wipe off wet, but I didn't see it. I have just a little bit on my new Sierra, so be careful with it. It's good you taped it
Old timers tip for cleaning cork handles is to use an old tooth brush with a slurry of baking soda. Just wipe down with water when clean, let dry and then seal.
