I love content about bait modifications like this, it can & cannot be bought. Rather an invention combing two peace’s of tackle together. Fantastic. This will be passed down to my children as they’re just getting into fishing! Thank you Matt!
One of the biggest reasons why I totally enjoy this channel is because I don't hear you saying "I can't believe I'm giving this secret away". I, and probably most people watching, are not going to be competing against you in some upcoming tournament! We are simply eager to learn and try new techniques that keep fishing fun. Heck, I fish almost exclusively in WI from a kayak and we probably never fish the same body of water. Keep doing what you are doing, make it educational, treat us to a peak at the kids fishing every so often, and don't say "oh man, I can't believe I'm telling you this....", Keep well, JJ
10 years ago i would have been yelling at myself to stop giving away tips and tricks but ive gotten over that and realized this is a great way to get others to catch fish and enjoy the sport i love. I appreciate your support and feedback! If you see me on the water come by and say hi!
Thanks Matt, I love the underspin tips. I'm going ice fishing at a great farm pond tomorrow and I just decided to bring some 3" Senkos because I think it would catch a bass there even though the ice.
Thanks Matt. Neet tip, I'm still perfecting my underspin tech and have not got to mods yet but thanks. Started using those Neko weights last year, man there sweet. Never fly out and do not distort the worm. I don't shaky head much since those weights.
Great stuff, thanks Matt! When I first subscribed I am not even sure there were 1,000 subscribers yet. You had a great channel even then, and it just keeps getting better.
An underspin is a bait I've thrown quite a bit but I'd like to get more confident in. This tip seems like a good excuse to play around with one and maybe try out a few things.
Matt, what an awesome tip. I love fishing, my cool bait under spins, but adding that tungsten, for the sound is a great idea! I will have to give that a try. God bless!
Great mod tip Matt, and I remember 4-5 years ago buying the CoolBaits underspins for $3.00 and since their popularity has grown, they’re 6.99-$8.99 😮 and they seem to be back ordered the same as your GuppyHeads😜🍀🍀🍀
Everything used to be $3-$5....not anymore unfortunatly. If you are interested Tackle warehouse has them fully in stock! www.tacklewarehouse.com/Coolbaits_Lure_Co_The_Down_Under_Underspin/descpage-CLCTDU.html?from=MSFG
@@MattStefanFishing I will try it, I am assuming that you would have to super glue them in as there isn't much plastic in the hook groove for a rattle there.
the tournament days are Wednesday - friday February 8-10. I assume weigh-in starts around 3:00 PM so Id say thats the best time to get to meet me and say hi to any other anglers
Great mod.... there definitely seems to be an advantage to the higher pitched clinking of Tungsten vs lead. Fwiw, I've had good luck with tungsten jig heads.
HIGHLY reccomend adding a Ryugi TC bait keeper to the shank of a coolbaits underspin, keitechs last so much longer and dont slide down, no need for glue either. Check em out!! Also, killer content as always, Matt!! Goodluck this season!
@@MattStefanFishing i will generally bend the original hook keeper down just a tad so it can slide over the top of it just a bit, then when it melts its got a nice bolster for the keeper. They sell them on TW. Tight lines!
I like to attach a second blade to the same split ring on my underspins so the blades clack a little bit and it breaks up the flash and makes it more erratic, especially if you have two different color blades
@@MattStefanFishing I first experienced this with a cheap tailspinner I bought on eBay. Both blades were on same split ring. I've tried different shapes and arrangements and the little clatter seems the same and gets differing results on walleye in cold winter water.
Hey Matt, I was wondering if you have tried this system on an A-Rig? Do you think if you had 3 baits that made that Tungsten noise from the blades and the extra flash would it be to much? Thanks for you time Eric
Thanks 4 a great tip. Finally something I haven't heard of or tried, and it really makes sense, seems to me it will work better than just adding a rattle, I love it ❤️ ...jimi
That’s really juicy juice!!! I’m trying this for real ….. the Matt Stefan belly banger or Matt Stefan underspin tungsten down under or Australian underpin mod
Got my first Cool Baits underspins this year for Christmas. Didn't know they were that popular, good to know! Caught a 23in Brown Trout on one last week.
Maybe the tungsten sounds like broken bones and the fish think it's injured. I've said this before and I'm not positive, but I think all clacking sounds or rattles are imitating an injured fish or crayfish etc.
I'm hoping we're unfrozen tomorrow 🙏! I like yalls Declassified series. When u get to a million subs u can quit dragging that boat around the country!!
I swear to God, I’ve been listening to this video for a couple minutes now and the dude will not get to the point. I almost fell asleep before I learned anything.
Total cost of inserting all that tungsten in a plastic bait that’s gonna fly off after 3 fish? How bout just adding a glass rattle totally inside so you don’t disturb the blade spinning.
As usual, the weights in the sizes you talk about are all gone. I hope when you come out with your hover hook that it is in sizes 1 and 1 ought. Anything smaller is just too small.
