Using iMessage on iPhones it's pretty easy to see if the other person has read your messages unless they choose otherwise. In fact, there are multiple possible ways this could go and it depends on you and your preferences of how you set things up.

I still don't know if they read my message or not. On whatsapp grey arrows turn blue so you know your message is read what about iphone normal message?

I have an iPhone 11 and I do not have the same menu as you!! So I don't have the options as you. Isn't there a difference between a text message and imessage??

There's a big difference between text and iMessage. Make sure to look it up.

Thank you for your information. In messenger it does show that the person read your message. A picture of the face will be below your message. That shows the message was seen. Feedback to Apple to have a setting or let us automatically know the message has been seen.

not asking for a friend lol. if someone sends me an imessage, let’s say at 10:30pm last night, for example, and when i saw it this morning at 6:29am - i opened it and then turned on my read receipts for that specific person. since i opened it first, before i turned the read option on, does it say read: 6:29am or no? thank you in advance!! 🤔🤔
