I just went to Moab for 5 days for a ridiculously low price, well under $500. Moab is definitely a place you can go for cheap if you're careful. BLM camping is cheap or free, and even hotels can be reasonable if you go slightly off season. In November, 2022, Holiday Inn is running about $110, and I've even seen some hotels in the $70 range. There are also plenty of cheaper fast food options in town, and even stores where you can get essentials pretty cheap. (Dollar Tree, etc). There are also tons of free things to do.

There are lots of free things to do! We love going in the off-season (nov-feb) since prices are normally way down. We're lucky to live close enough we can make a long day trip during peak season if we don't want to camp. Hopefully you had a great time!
