Probably depends on your state Where I live, you fill out a portion of the title, where you sign over the title to the new owner. There is also a form at the bottom you have to detach and send it in to the state government, who will transfer the title to the new owner. Although it's not required, I create a bill of sale, which you can find online, and fill it out, stating that I sold the car to Mr. or Mrs. XYZ, for $X,XXX.XX and it's being sold as is. I usually include make, model, VIN and odometer reading on the form, in addition to my name and the buyer's name, and city.
Did you sell it? How long did it take to sell it? What form of payment is safe and easy for both parties? I have a 2019 acura mdx that is worth 34,000. It would be hard for me to count that much in cash
