Gold is also worth something, the more money in circulation printed via treasury bonds to cover the deficit, the less value inherit in your dollar. Gold is always best, in these high inflation times your losing 10% guaranteed on your dollar.

Gold is always gold and lasts essentially forever, so you're right it doesn't lose value, the value of the American currency we use changes up and down in relation to the consistent value in gold, from my understanding. So while you may have thought so for the wrong reasons, you were still right lol
