Hey Mr Cooler, great vid, I've been wanting to do this for a while but chickened out cause it looked too hard. But not anymore. Thanks a bunch!!! Best wishes for the New Year. Bazz out :-)))))
Hey this is cool! I have been doing both eBay and Zazzle part time, but I didn't even know that any of be there other print-on-demand companies had eBay integration. This is a game changer for me because I have designs I could just move over to printful, and boost sales quick!
Great video! I noticed you adjusted the return policy after connecting Printful and eBay. Can you also adjust the payment policy once the integration is set up? Has anyone else experienced this or have insights about it? Thanks!
Hello! Yes you can adjust the return policy and can always go into ebay itself to adjust it. I personally always sell no returns. I am sure that I have lost a few sales over the years but realistically I am not interested in taking back someone's purchase because they changed their mind. Typically like-minded customers will find you if they are hunting for your type of product.
Hello Zen😁 just wanted to say thank you! Your information has been a stellar asset for a starving artist like myself.Have a GREAT Day and many blessings to you❤
if somebody purchases through eBay does prihtful automatically ship directly to them or do I have to purchase from prihtful and ship to buyer / drop ship it to the buyer?
Yes great question - Printful will print and ship it automatically. So yes you are buying it from Printful and Printful is shipping it, but it all happens automatically.
the only helpful video on youtube about printful and ebay connection!! Another way to fix the error is verify the payoneer account filling with all the mandatory documents required. this worked for me without listing any items.
Why does this work for some and other accounts get band. I called ebay about this 2021 this year. They mentioned if you dont have the product yourself you cant sell it. So no print on demand. I really do wish I could do this.
Thank you for the video, good info. The one thing I noticed you did not discuss was the shipping time it takes with P.O.D has that in any way been a challenge and how do you address that in Ebay? Thanks
No returns is pointless. In this case with a new product like this, it might not happen often, but you will have to deal with returns. Since it's drop shipped, I'm not sure how that would work. I sell a lot of clothing. Buyers just don't read the description or all the pics. I think maybe what I'd do, and probably will, is setup an online POD store, than use my sales on my existing Ebay store to advertise my POD store(s). That way the POD doesn't cause any problems with my Ebay store. Thanks for the great vid!
I appreciate your point of view - this video is me offering my point of view. I've sold clothing for years with no returns and I'm explaining my experience (where I haven't had any major problems). Thanks for the feedback.
@@zenwatercooler I guess I should say I sell "vintage" clothes! :P Buyers on Ebay specifically tend not to read very well! :P I understand in the video you said what you did when there was a problem with the product, but do you get buyers who just want to return just because? The reason I ask has to do with Ebay particularly. They are so pro-buyer, they tend to allow returns regardless of the sellers setting. Just wondering if you've run into that on the Ebay platform? Thanks for the very informative video as usual! :)
Yes you can name your stores whatever you want - your ebay store and your Etsy store would not be linked so if both are your stores, it could help you from a branding perspective.
Thank you. Awesome job. Very easy to understand. Just merged my Ebay account with printful. Been thinking about Etsy but they seem to be going through a lot of changes. I already had an account with Ebay and was very easy to connect. Will be adding products very slow to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Yes I agree, Etsy seems to have a better chance to selling items at a higher price. I think there is opportunity to both - I might need to do a compare video of ebay vs. Etsy. Hmm you have given me something to think about, thank you!
Yes for eBay, you can set where you would like to sell (and also isolate countries that you do not wish to sell to). So I typically set it up to sell in Canada (where I live) and also the U.S.
Yes at the time of this recording (2021), vacation settings were only for ebay stores (not regular listings). Thank goodness they have changed it now - I agree with you, vacation setting is much easier 👍
Hello! No your Printful account is just your email address. Your customers on ebay would never know that you are using Printful (there is no Printful branding on the actual products).
For me I typically go after really niche things (because I can't compete with China selling an AC/DC shirt for $10 including free shipping!). I personally list products other than t-shirts (so I don't worry about sizing), but for a shirt I try to make $3-5 per shirt profit. Not huge but it's relatively passive.
How long on average does it take for someone to buy a shirt? And also Im in the UK and it shows the eBay listing in US dollars, is it possible to change it to the UK currency?
Yes that is a good point - over the years ebay has changed how sellers can pause their listings, so to keep the video simple I just ended the listings. But yes it would be better to pause them or use the “time away” feature. Good point!
If you are shipping across the world and shipping fees are very high, and you have free shipping, do you make a loss or does the price vary based on shipping fees.
Yes that is good question - the shipping in Canada is higher than the U.S. so I deal with this. I just do the "calculated" shipping option in eBay so that whatever it costs, that is what is charged. Either the customer will pay it, or they won't (and I won't make the sale). I would not generally do free shipping unless it gives you a competitive advantage AND you are not taking a loss.
If you want to connect Printful to Ebay, Printful wants to know the PayPal address. However, Ebay no longer works with PayPal. Do I have to pay attention to anything???
Yes typically to pay for the Printful order, you would pay by PayPal (or some other method). That's the only reason Printful would be asking - I would recommend just putting your regular email in there.
If you are using multiple print-on-demand suppliers, you would just link your ebay store through each supplier - and then when you create your designs/products in the supplier portal, it automatically interfaces to your ebay store. Basically it is the same process for each print-on-supplier (or very similar).
I agree that ebay can force a return if the buyer claims that the item was not as advertised - which is pretty much open season to allow for all sorts of complaints. It's not ideal!
Hi there - generally no, you do not have to do that - when you link your store to Printful, and the customer buys something, the customer's information is synchronized with Printful. So Printful prints and ships the order. You are literally just the middleman (you take the customer's money and you pay Printful, and keep the difference).
That's what I came to ask.ive heard of people getting suspended when linking printful...so can we list them manually then go manually do the order in printful
if somebody purchases through eBay does prihtful automatically ship directly to them or do I have to purchase from prihtful and ship to buyer / drop ship it to the buyer?
Yes great question - Printful will print and ship it automatically. So yes you are buying it from Printful and Printful is shipping it, but it all happens automatically.
You would not require an investment of inventory if that is what you mean. You would not have a garage full of blank t-shirts. But you would typically need to buy a website, or list on Etsy, or buy a computer, etc.
Where are you seeing 10 variants a month? Printful typically will show what the seller's eBay store has for limits - mine for example is over 500 items and $10,000. Where in Printful are you seeing 10 variants total (is it a new eBay store)?
Hey there - if you are selling on Printful, then Printful will ship the item. You don't need to actually do anything. Printful will ship the item and provide ebay with the tracking number. All you need to do is basically answer customer questions and design/list. Printful will ship the item.
Thank you for this video. I do have a question- I already have all my products made in Printful, how can I just place them on eBay without “creating new products”
Hey there - if you have all your products made in Printful, they should be housed in a store. (Otherwise you just have files sitting in a library.) So in Printful, you would create an ebay store, and then create the products right in Printful. Then there is a "sync" feature and whatever you have in Printful, it shows up in ebay.
Well the sales really is the mysterious part - it depends on what you are selling, the price points and how in-demand the niche is. So you could make a sale in 1 day or never. Returns are tough-I personally don't offer returns. My designs are strong enough that as a boutique store, I just explain that I am printing these on demand so make sure you want it. But if you want to offer returns, then you would have to factor that into your costs.
Absolutely - I would say start with Redbubble (it is free to list) as well - that way you are not out any up front costs (other than time). I wish you luck!!
Hey there - if your accounts are synced, the sale should trigger a purchase on the Printful side. I would say double-check with Printful to make sure it is set up correctly?
I've been on ebay for years, there have always been selling limits as long as I've been using it: www.ebay.ca/help/selling/listings/selling-limits?id=4107
Yes sort of - when you make a sale, Printful will charge you for the clothing (and you pay via credit card) - and then eBay will send you the money so you get the funds in a few days. And you pocket the profit. So you do pay, but you aren't out of pocket money for a long time. Hope that helps.
No - currently ebay does not allow for selling digital downloads. Etsy would be a better option as you can list a digital file, the customer pays and they get a link to an instant download.
