We often think of marketing as misleading, scammy, unethical, or manipulative, but that's marketing done WRONG. Big thanks to Squarespace for sponsoring this video: squarespace.com/kelseyrodriguez
Marketing and advertising is all around us, all the time. There are SO many people out there exaggerating the benefits of their products, using insane amounts of clickbait, and manipulating your emotions to get the sale, that the term "marketing" now leaves a bad taste in our mouth.
But it doesn't have to be this way. There is a way that you can market your products and share your work without compromising your values. By focusing on authenticity, honesty, and vulnerability, we can attract the people who need our message or our products the most. No unethical sales practices needed.
You don't need to trick people to have them like your work and want to support you. You aren't bothering people by sharing your work online. What you ARE doing is making an honest living pursuing your dream. There's no shame in that.

@sierrarmcclain
My problem is I get physically exhausted from constantly posting and marketing and thinking about content creation. 🙈

This video is not really telling you how to sell your art, only really talking about the specific, sociological aspect and topic of it
@byonty886
I feel so shy and embarassed talking about my art, idk why, I know that my skills are not bad, it's just the feeling of sharing it makes me loose my motivation, idk why 😔
@iMakeThat
The people that say you’re a sellout are 1. Not artists lol 2. Jelly that you are making money doing what you love ❤
@onceuponarevenant9409
I just want to sell art. Selling my soul is optional
@vmno6300
A sign of maturity as an artist is monetizing your creativity. It’s difficult but it requires dedication.
@fuzzydragons
def the hardest thing i have a problem with when I have to market work is i feel like i m bugging people sometimes, even if I know they like what i do I cant get over that feeling so often dont push my work as hard as I should 😑
@basedanetto
Honestly I'm more motivated to be more creative and put more quality into my work if I have the goal of monetizing it and competing in the space
@MiakarteProjects
What do you think about my artwork
@NoiseDay
I really like the idea of treating narketing like a conversation with a specific person. It takes the mystery away of, "will they like it? What do they even like??"
@reneenoriega4524
Thank you Kelsey for another amazing video. As an administrative marketing student, i can confirm people normally wouldn't care a lot for your products (in this case, your art) unless you market it *constantly*. As long as you're not invasive or insensitive, most people wouldn't mind you promoting your work ❤
@art_krisis
Ty Kelsey, these are all rly great tips, especially that last tip on talking about ur work!! Also, watching u sketch and seeing u shade in those shapes is sooo relaxing and satisfying haha <3
@alexcampbellstudio
oh my goodness, you've done it! the perspective you've put out for your ideal customer is SO refreshing. I knew that talking to my followers and the camera is like talking to your friend on the phone but i've been slowly getting somewhere with my ideal customer but to talk about my art and market it like I'm talking just to my ideal customer is a way I've never looked at it before. Thank you!!
@thedavidboland
Nice one Kelsey! I just launched my first digital product (meditations/soundbath) and did my non salesy but still a sales newsletter today. It felt weird but it needs to be done in order to share it with people!
@helluemi
thanks to your channel I've finally started to take seriously my art biz dreams kelsey <3 love your content
@phoenixdikaia
Marketing is hard. It always feels like you put in work and still only few people see it.
@TheBusinessHandyMan
I love how you emphasize selling without selling your soul.
@ChantelleArts
this is fantastic, so many wonderful tips for someone getting into the industry, thank you ❤❤
@hilodraws
