Major omissions: explaining WHY you're doing something, and WHAT you're doing with the mouse -- are you left-clicking? Right-clicking? Right-clicking with shift-key? Impossible to know from the video when all you see is the cursor moving around & suddenly something is highlighted or moving across the screen. As for the WHY -- it would sure help to understand how it's all coming together if you explained why you want to move something to the top, for example.
Can you post some light used? Im from Brasil and need adapt because import Lights are so high because the importation tax. I think the only thinking I need import is the central controler
I'm looking forward to seeing the actual light show and then watching these videos back. I believe we'll be switching to a pixel show for 2020 so these videos are great tutorials for us. Keep em coming!
I appreciate the detail and the time you took to do this, but the large red curser spot is very very annoying. I plan to watch others you make, but is it possible to make that a pale yellow with translucency so we can follow along a little better? Again, I know these take time and they are work for you so, again, thanks for doing them. They will be helpful as I learn this stuff.
Appreciate the effort, but this tutorial is hard to follow. For a basic tutorial like this, better to keep it simple and explain everything you are doing as you do it, including all of the mouse and keyboard actions. Otherwise we are just watching you do it without knowing how you are doing it.
Sure thing. As I mention in the intro to this video, this one isn't designed to be a complete guide to xLights functions, but rather a guide to apply it to sequencing for music. Check out my full playlist on xLights, as it will go into more detail for you: ru-vid.com/group/PLccGtinHO7Iy15tWfyQgr1THQbCf_1T9f
Hey dude, I love August Burns Red!! I'm prepping my own show to their Christmas stuff. Are you able to share with Google Drive any and all ABR stuff you have please?
Please, can you activate the subtitles of the video to be able to translate them into Spanish? It would be a great help, I don't speak English. I have watched most of your videos with subtitles, this one is particularly interesting to me, but the subtitles are turned off. Thanks in advance from Spain.
Hi Really basic question...but I'm struggling to find the answer....I've created a sequence but I want to delete the first 80 seconds of the track as its low energy and dull. I would have thought that I could easily select a section of a sequence and simply delete it (light show AND music) but I cant find a way to do this. Am I being daft or is that apparently basic feature really not available? Thanks
xLights isn't really an audio program, however the free audio program "Audacity" can be used to trim your audio before you sequence in xLights :) xLights simply adds animations to the audio
Do I need to set up controllers on Xlights to do this? I am playing around with it, but doesn’t seem like I can get past uploading the song and sequence anything.
You don't have to set up the controllers, unless you want to light up lights. To see it in the PC, you only need to set up your layout tab with models of your lights.
In xLights, just use the "ON" effect (white square). When you don't use it, they're off Controller- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2mCKwzh11y0.html
@@LearnChristmasLighting Is there a way to change the timings? For example, I'm doing "I am Sant Claus" at the moment and if you're not familiar with it, it is a parody of Iron Man by Black Sabbath. Anyway, the opening guitar begins in the middle of the timing Mark's on xlights so my AC lights will turn on before the guitar actually starts instead of at the exact moment. In LOR, you just right click on choose the "adjust timing" option but I'm not seeing an option for that in xlights or I have just missed it. Any ideas? Thanks.
@@chexlemeneux4907 I don't know of any exact way to do it, however - here is a workaround. If you are in the seqencing view, you can right click on the model or group (the "Row"), and press Row / Select Effects. Then hold the SHIFT key and you are able to click and drag them all together. Turn off any timing tracks at the top of the sequencer to make it stop snapping to any timing marks you have. Thanks!
@@LearnStageLighting Thanks! What I wound up doing was using 3 different timing tracks. I used one for the beat, 1 for the rythm, and the last for special things like an exclamation point. That way I could move 1 or 2 timing tracks around while still having the 3red as a guide so to speak. Thanks again for the response.
They are on the xLights download page - the "QMVAMP plugins". Check my "Installing xLights" video for more: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sRm6ucxiN6Y.html
