How To Service a 95/96 RockShox Judy

SRP still make aluminium cartridges, back in the days plenty of 3rd party made parts for theses forks I had a improved cartridge and dual rate springs in my Judy DH, fork was sold as stock when I got a RST mozo 😂

Nice and informative video! I have the Judy SL with the fixed stanchions. The cartridge was blow off back then so they had change it with aluminum. They also replaced the elastomers with coils but after that service, the shock was squeaking a lot. They had done something wrong? (It was 20 years ago, but actually after that the fork just stored in my garage).The service was from the from the official rockshox dealer. After the service I made to my Reba it seems extremely easy to open the Judy, thanks to your your video. Should I open it and add more grease? I have plastic caps, can i find aluminum ones ?thank you in advance, keep up the good work on your videos and greetings from Greece!

You really need to replace the bushings for those forks that's the most important part!!!!

Hello. Great video. I have a really old Rock Shox Jett T2 on my old Raleigh M80 and the shock wont rebound. I believe it needs a rebuild but I can't find any videos on it and I'm not sure I would trust myself to do it anyway. Do you have any recommendations? The bike is about 30 years old. The shock is probably 25 years old. I replaced the original one after bending the stock shock. Do you ever do rebuilds for customers? I would even let you use it to make a rebuild video if you were interested. Thanks for the great videos! I liked and subscribed. 🙂

Hi, great video. I have these forks on my old Giant TCM. The forks are completely compressed basically just from the weight of the bike. Haven't opened them up yet but you think the elastomers are had it?

*IMPORTANT SAFETY QUESTION*. I've searched the net to no avail for this answer. Do SOME old Rock Shox for 26"wheels have ONLY ONE 'Stack' (internal spring assemble at the top of the fork directly under the plastic cap that threads on top of the fork crown) (Thinking 1990s versions). What I mean by 'One Stack' is only one fork blade has a 'stack' (spring assembly) and the other fork blade has NOTHING, just a different thread on plastic cap over the fork crown threaded hole where you'd THINK there was a 'stack' (spring assembly) under. Reason I ask is I just restored a Trek VRX300 and the original Rock Shox Judy was broken/unfixable so I bought a used Rock Shox Jett off Ebay & when I overhauled it, it only had a 'stack' (spring assembly) inside the left fork blade, which has a spring tension adjuster knob atop (which I cranked to max tension). The right fork blade has NOTHING inside, just a different plastic plug (threaded plastic cap, but it has the correct thread). The bike seems to ride FINE w/just 1 'stack' (spring assembly) inside the left fork blade. The spring tension is adequate, the fork doesn't bind, lean to right side and bounces up and down smooth & doesn't bottom out. It sure SEEMS like this fork was DESIGNED with Only 1 'stack' (spring assembly) inside the left fork blade & NO 'stack' (spring assembly) inside the right fork blade. Do you KNOW if SOME Rock Shox were DESIGNED this way, with ONLY ONE 'stack' (spring assembly) inside ONE of the fork blades, bot NOTHING inside the other fork blade?

Hi there, I've got a problem with some JudyDH internals, where the alloy sliders (inside the metal damper cartridges) are totally corroded. Have had no luck finding new shafts/sliders anywhere. Can you assist or do you have any?
