sound? more like noise; good luck spotting any wildlife on the trail; you'll scare it all away the moment you stop pedaling. You'll get better engagement with a roller or sprag clutch hub. and you'll coast in peace. Hope makes great stuff but enough with the louder = better.
Virtuous Cycles It’s handy where I am. Lots of dog walkers on the trail who will walk in front of a quiet bike. The noise gives them a chance to get their dog under control so it doesn’t munch at my heels.
It excites me that the freehub design would allow you to switch the spring and pawl round and make the freehub work backwards. If only more of my friends had hope hubs so I could play a trick
Great video.... Did mine last night with Blue seal bearings from Trail vision Silkstone.... £17.99 for the set of 5.... Runs mint now... Easy enough to do... Thanks for the video
just did my Pro 4 a couple of weeks ago and it was “wham, wham, wham!” with a rubber mallet. next time I going to buy the hub tool or find a similar piece of pvc from home depot. it would be a lot easier with stable supports
when he puts the springs in it is critical that the long edge be closer to the inner diameter. if you put the springs in with the long edge closer to the outer side then the hub won’t work properly. you will be able to pedal, but every so often nothing will catch and your crankset will spin around, happens most when you are ratcheting.
If you don't have the bearing support tool, when putting the new bearings on the axle you can probably just use the old bearings as a guide, right? So put the old bearings on top of the new bearing and use the mallet on the old bearings?
Good video, managed to service my own hub. Some remarks: * pop the caps off -> took me half an hour. Mole grips eventually made them come off easily, just pull straight away from the hub. * at the end on the non-drive side a seal is put back on with a tapered and a flat side, but the video doesn't mention which side goes up. I tried to follow the seal when he handles it, I think the tapered side goes up. Best to check before you remove it. * the freewheel should pop in with a special tool, for me it never clicked in like in the video, it just fell in place.
If the hub has been assembled for a long time things can get stuck. Try soaking with penetrating fluid, if that doesn't help try putting it in the freezer overnight then let it warm back up sometimes that will help free things up. If it is still stuck try freezing everything then while the axle is still cold heat only the spacer it is tricky to heat the spacer while not heating the axle. Try to not use any clamps as it is quite easy to Marr up the axle. Most importantly BE PATIENT! Don't give up and good luck!
@@krautergarten4529 In my opinion. SHC is syntetic, xhp is mineral. Is not easy to wash away SHC 460, even with degreaser. Xhp 222 is more solid, "stickier". SHC 460 is more "loose". In matter of hubs, spindles, i rather use grease that is less "breaking". Each one last more than 6 months period of maintence. In my use, once by year.
this really is a great video - I must admit that I have tried loads of different grease during my 40 years of cycling but the best one has been AeroShell Grease 6 that a helicopter pilot suggested I try - he gave me a small sample and I have to say that it really is fantastic - I would highly recommend it and it is not that much more expensive than a basic lithium grease - one tin would probably last a lifetime and just wait and see and feel the results - please post lots more videos

How to pull out the bearings from freehub and bicycle hubs without using a hammer. All bearings will be hammered even we used rubber hammer. Saigon Bike Shop will tell you how to do! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uycKNHJ8XWc.html
И это видео от производителя? Подшипники не выбиваются и не забиваются. Их запресовывают. Любой удар по подшипнику это вероятность создать раковину. А это не хорошо
