Jon Sorensen I’m not sure why, but Ben has had a lot of success trapping. Check out our trapping video playlist and see if he has the same approach on his other traps. I think it’s consistent with his other sets.
i always catch badger on occasion in my canine sets from time to time but never seen anyone set up just for badger thanks for sharing this gonna give it a shot. Any ideas on how to set up conitrap or snares on a fresh active badger digs? and would like see a badger being put upfrom start to finish. thanks.
+STREETERBOYZOUTDOORS From Ben- Depends on the state, but #220 body grips can be set st hole entrance and staked in. Not sure about the snares due to non target catches. The height of the snare would make it fair game to other similar size critters and dang near impossible to target badger.
STREETERBOYZOUTDOORS - or why not just leave them alone instead of thinking that you have the right to do what the hell you want, but like I said to the other human entities, what goes around comes around!
Badgers normally come out backwards of their holes and they have many holes, they busy lil critters. I been after a badger now for some time, I found his home and he has it filled, so I will use this set up for when he comes out, most badgers will set ur trap off (if trap is set light) kicking all the dirt out. But this badger we have is on property we bought and currently going to be putting livestock on. Andof course have praire dogs on. So he has to go as they do. We are giving him a 50 50 chance, we have set live traps, as we will relocate him if he gets in there, and if he gets into the foothold he will be dispatched and used. Last time we saw him he was digging after a praire dog by our pickup as we were out ranching. Lol he a huge one. I hope to relocate him, wife wants his fur, ssshhhhh I’m on his side.
Logan Scutt, badgers always dig away from the stake. When caught they go the the end of chain and dig. If ur targeting badgers its not a bad idea to have a longer trap chain. Im a hardcore coyote trapper, but do catch a good number of badgers and I have short chain on my yote traps. Been trapping for many years. Started back in 1977 Richard from Kansas;)
