How to Set A G-Shock Watch: Troubleshooting H-Set

This video shows you how to use the H-Set function on the Casio G-Shock GA-100-1AER. You may require this if the time is setting up incorrectly or if the digital and analog time are not synchronising. The H-Set is correcting the hand home positions which is usually required if your watch has had an impact or has been exposed to strong magnetism. Hi. I have the 4778 model, and when I follow the HSET instructions in the manual it goes through the mode cycle and goes back to time keeping mode - without going into H-SET. Any ideas?

My time is off by 9 minutes. My computer and other clocks currently show 2:26 PM but my G Shock is telling me that it is 2:34 PM. It used to work just fine but has been off by 9 minutes since last week....any idea? I tried adjusting it by following your direction but it's not working. thanks.

Hello I am having a problem right at the step where I press mode and both the minute and hour hand don't go to right up. I take them manually to that point by using forward, since the reverse isn't doing anything. If I press adjust they won't move in the final step. What could be the problem? Thanks.

Dadomix CZGA: Apologies but we can't 'reply' to your comment so I hope this comment gets to you. For this model the ‘forward’ button should be the light function in timekeeping mode. When you are using the ‘mode’ and ‘adjust’ functions the ‘forward’ button should not be acting as a light. Thanks!

Awesome life saving video. This also works for Edifice Era 200. I can confirm that. If you kindly add the model on your description believe some more soules like me can find the video easily. The official video from Casio is useless.

what i did was i held adjust until i heard a beep and i toggled through everything with the mode button until i got to the date, then i used the forward and reverse buttons to scroll through. hope this helped. Good luck!

Personal note: when it’s day light saving and time to adjust an hour, go to normal day mode where it has the day and time. Then hold adjust. It should move the time back or forward an hour. If that doesn’t work do what the video says. To tweak it to your exact time, after following the videos instructions. Go into the normal time mode and hold adjust to tweak it to your exact time. Once I’ve set the new time

Hi James, assuming that you have selected the correct home city and you’re an hour behind press and hold ‘adjust’ then press ‘mode’ once. You should then be able to adjust the daylight savings time by pressing ‘forward’ and set it by pressing ‘adjust’.
