How to set Live Wallpaper on Mac in 2024

Many have been asking for the Live Mac Wallpaper Trick. Here's how to set your own video or screen recording as your own Live Video wallpaper on Mac. This can be done on most of the Macs and MacBooks.
We have done this in MacOS Sonoma but this could probably be done on many OS. Let us know if it worked for you.

It works in the OS14.5 but when i closed up my mac and open again it wont work for no reason, it just a full of black. but it works sometime XD thanks for the video!

I had the same problem, then realized you have to delete the original from the trashcan. That worked for me :)

In my case it works, but only for one time closing and opening my MacBook. As soon as I close and open again it will not play. Do you have an answer for this problem? Other than that really nice work and also much easier than I thought it was.

I used an mp4 video first, didn't work, But when I converted the same video to mov, it worked.

He mentions at 0:44 you can get it from RU-vid or anywhere else you find it. I’d choose RU-vid and just use a RU-vid downloader to get the video of your choice :) the Disney intro is for sure somewhere to be found here ☺️

got it working on 14.5 for a bit but then it just freezes at the start. pretty cool when it worked. wish you can make another one that doesnt have this dumb software update. keep up the work!

okay friends. I have played with thing for way too long. Here is what I found out. Its a bit of party trick, it will not do it every single time, I get to do it fully one time and then it just goes black and nothing happens. If you pick another screensaver, and then come back to this Disney screen saver it will work again. But after one try it, it will once again go black and then you have to repeat the process if you want to see see this Disney screensaver again. This has been my experience, maybe its my machine is too old to work properly, its a 2020 Macbook. I will try it on something newer and see if that gives me a different outcome.

I have the totally same question as you, and i found out that you can just record the video on your mac rather than on your iphone so that you can have the same resolution and size for the mac. however i can just only play one time of the live wall paper and then it will stop. i cannot replay twice...

it worked twice after changing but after that when i open my macbook it just shows the start of the video as a picture wallpaper. no live wallpaper at all

Can you do a video that fixes the live wallpapers that a Mac Studio comes with to actually move on the screen when they are set as a new wallpaper? Mine is just a still image even though it shows a play button indicating it’s a video or live wallpaper.

first he doest say where he got the video 2nd he does not tell you the video format has has to be .MOV and last I tried it and my screen savers are gone and can't re download them lol is like half fast show... I was able to download the video on RU-vid with a program called clip grab is free . copy the link and downloads it to you computer or search Disney intro 100 .MOV format .. thank you guys for reading if it help let me know.

you just delete the custom video from the '4KSDR240FPS' folder, and download the original live wallpaper again from the system preference settings.
