I just tore my mini mac 30 apart today to clean it up. Was filthy from sitting for lord knows how many years. I just set everything with a matchbook. Check it all with a feeler and it's dead nuts on!
Great vids, Donnie. Got a Mac 140, no spark. Reset points gap, but still no spark. Measured resistance at coil- 8.6k ohm secondary, but seems like primary is open…love the little guy, but people want $100 for a coil. Might just put it back together as a display piece 👍🇨🇦
Great video. I have the Mini Mac 35 and need to adjust the points but I cannot get the fan off to get to the points. Does the nut turn counter clock wise to loosen or clockwise? The nut has not been off in 40 plus years and I cannot break it loose so I want to make sure I am turning it the correct way. Appreciate any suggestions to get it off.
@@donnywalker4691 Was when I was 13 I was working on the dirt bikes ( Bultaco's) as a 13 yr old could. Didn't touch saws until 14 and those were Poulans :( Guess neither brand really survived, in fact didn't the current "McCulloch" brand sell a Poulan built saw for a little while?? Guess I was on the right side of THAT eh?
@@donnywalker4691 Nothing a little rubber insulation "paste" & shrink wraps can't fix... I think. I HOPE. I remember once cutting one of those and putting a wire in like a worm on a fish hook, then shrink wrap...u think it worked?
Donny, what do YOU think has the best ability to run a 32” bar stock: 572XP OR a MS462? I don’t have the personal confidence or tools for porting OR someone close by THAT I TRUST for porting a saw. You PERSONAL opinion is important to me!
