Thanks so much for your video, was exactly what I needed to set up my new NAS. It was really easy to follow along as I went through my set up. I like pictures/videos and dlink didn't have many of those included with their set up material, so your video helped a lot.
great video just point out to the people who don't use Raid a lot if you use Raid 0 and one hard disk goes down the Striped volume is faulty all data lost from both hard disks
it's good nas. but the fan is loud, a restart will refresh the mem as it gets hot, and make it quiet again, it's also best to use a cat6a lan cable on if for max file transfer
Hi, I can't seem to access the drive on my other PC, laptops or my phone except for the PC I used for the installation. Can you help with set it up so I can access this drive remotely across all my PC's and devices. Thanks!
What am I doing wrong? When I install my share center further when it says select the drive but nothing comes up and i can not complete the installation
Hi TingaWinga. I have bought the 4 bay version. I have 3 hard drives with content on them. Can I set them on the box with standard no RAID involved without formatting. Any help would be appreciated.
I have one like this accept its the Dlink DNS-302L the case looks exactly the same. I have everything going but it thinks my printer is a external hard drive and the light on it is orange. If it detects the printer and I set it up then it also doesn't print so yeah it seems a bit buggy. Everything else works fine only annoying thing is a file size limit of 2 gigabytes. Luckily with windows you can bypass it and luckily with a program called WinRAR you can separate files to under 2 gigabyte each.
Dont have a install CD or the password to mine. never changed it and the drivers is blocked on my PC for some reason and it cant get UNBLOCKED. what to do? just bought 2x3TB WD RED so i wanna be able to use them
I've had this model for a few years now, it never worked here at my place, no light ever comes on either disc 1 or 2, there is only light in the ON button, now I'm messing with it again, I have 2 x 2Tb disks inserted (WD20EURS) now that I'm messing with it again, I notice that there are no jumpers mounted in those disks, I would like to get it up running, so it would be a pleasure if someone could see through the mistake I keep making..
hey I noticed you have installed 3tb but dns-320l in the manual only supports 4tb total hence I use X2 2tb for raid1, did you have to update firmware to support larger volumes ?
Andrew Hambleton 4TB for each disk. I just couldn't afford the 4TB disks back then and I think it may be certain 4TB disks only, check with the manufacturer.
I am coming from the future, I had a big crash with this DNS 320L not by the NAS itself, but for a WD Purple 4 TB My question is, If I take one disk from a DNS 320L RAID 1 array and try to read it on a Linux Machine, will I see the data normally, or the data is encoded in some kind of Dlink propietary format. a wise quote: the purpose of RAID is to give you notice that you have a disk failure without putting you into a situation where you are unable to deliver computer services. It's about availability of service, not backup. [Robert5205]
