How to set up an Amazon Echo 

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ru-vid.comUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

Great video...I just got mine in yesterday. My only complaint with Amazon is that the clock option was not available in the "plum" color I ordered.

This is fine for those with an amazon account - like the presenter has - but not those who haven’t.

My question is - what if you don't have a smartphone? I know someone who doesn't but would like an Echo Dot like mine!

Did not work...

Instructions are too rapid - I had to keep repeating this to understand what to do. Much better if step by step instructions were quoted.

I suspect it is due to some ridiculously granted paents but it TOTALLY SUCKS that you can't tell Alexa to for instance "run A/C at 70 degrees for 2 hours then change to 75 degrees" Or "Alexa turn kitchen lights on for one hour" et c etc...every time I have tried anything like this she calims to lack ability ...OBVIOUSLY it would be similar to a reminder and TOTALLY doable ...WHY NOT???? ANOTHER huge FAIL with Alexa is no ability to have stand alone program that does not require internet ....this SUCKS in a spotty area like where I live ...the internet goes down far too often and then Alexa can do NOTHING...OBVIOUSLY it is TOTALLY possible to have the program on your own computer and not need to be online ....I do not understand why this is not available ...a PISSER! FIRST system that can do this? Alexa gets TRASHED
