This video shows you how to set up an ILF bow step by step.
• The first step to an ILF bow set up is to slip the limbs into place (you will hear an audible click)
• Next, you will string the bow using a bow stringer. Each bow string has a small loop and a large lop that go on the bottom limb and top limb respectively.
• String the bow using the stringer following the video instructions.
• Check and confirm the brace height, as this video shows if your brace height is a little short, restring the bow and apply some twists, shortening the bow but adding more length to the brace height.
• Next check the tiller alignments, with the goal being the bottom and top tiller measurements equal.
• After tiller adjustments, you’ll need to confirm if your string runs perfectly straight on both limbs and the riser.
• After the brace height, tiller adjustments, and center alignment, its time to put your bow rest on. After finishing this process you want to make sure the arrow tip is just to the left of the string.
• Next, confirm your bow is level with the freehand bow leveling kit.
• Install your nocking point, you want to an an1/8 inch high off of level.

Wow, this video was quite informative! And... also informed me enough to understand this hobby is way more detailed than "grab arrows and shoot". Time to look for a simpler hobby lol

Hey Matthew, we're glad you found this video quite informative. However, don't be overwhelmed by all the information out there. Keep shooting and don't overthink it. Archery is supposed to be fun, meditative, and relaxing - not stress inducing. 🏹

Never hear of your company and I'm glad your video showed up in my feed but that Night Ridge looks NICE! I love that grip style looks a lot like my Hoyt Buffalo.

I am real glad I found this video. I have had the vista for a few years now and really enjoy it. I was recently looking at the night rage ILF. I do have my recurve broken down while backpacking / camping. Would I have to make these adjustments each time I take it down put it back together?

Once its set up it’ll be ready to shoot more often than not…if the brace height changes from the string twisting or untwisting it would need to be reset to the proper brace height it was tuned to. Thanks for reaching out; hope this helps!

thanks for the great video. i actually got here from your website when i looked up the "night ridge". since there's no mention on the "night ridge's" webpage and it wasn't mentioned here, could you tell me where the "night ridge" is manufactured? and by "manufactured" i'm wanting to know where the bow's components are taken from raw materials into an actual, finished ILF bow and NOT merely assembled/packaged.

Hey ee, most of our bows are designed and engineered in Mount Joy, PA and manufactured overseas e.g. China

So your saying it's fine to set your tiller height while the bow is strung, is that correct, I always thought if your doing split finger draw, you want a bit more tiller in the upper limb, by 1/8 to 1/4 ", your advocating equal is that right. Also when doing three under, yo have equal or just the opposite to the split finger setup.

Tiller should be measured from the limbs core fade outs.

Hmm, wanted an ILF but will stick with my Bearpaw Mohican so no messing with adjusting tiller/right/left etc
@MONKLJ

It's not R or L, it's in or out to the riser. I think your confused with alignment of the limbs, then it's R or L, top and bottom limb. All this makes for a more even tension on the string through the release.

@@MONKLJ why my ilf bow..brace height was 8.2 inch..thats too height..
@MONKLJ

@@fahlvfaust677 8.2 is not out of line by any means, there are several variables to consider, 3 under, split finger, arrows you shoot, your draw length etc, everyone will be different

I bought this bow and it was set up originally with a brace height of like 3 inches, and I cannot get a brace height of 7 inches do I keep twisting string until hit that 7 inch mark because the way it sits I cannot adjust tiller enough to get any of those measurements. Help plz
@OctoberMountainProducts
@OctoberMountainProducts 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for reaching out! That’s a lot of twists…its possible that it is the wrong string; it would be recommended to measure both. Could you give a bit more information on the bow and string?
@rayburns733
@rayburns733 3 месяца назад
Sounds to me that your string is WAY too long... if your brace height is only 3 inches you need to invest in a shorter string, length of string will depends on the length of your bow. Twisting the string will only buy you an inch or so at best, again, depending on the length of your bow. I'm guessing the string you are using did not come with the bow. NORMALLY the string should be about 3 inches shorter than the labeled AMO length on a recurve bow, this may vary depending on the length of the riser. This is a good starting point and then twisting the string should bring you in to the desired brace height. Strongly recommend you research youtub on how to measure and determining the length of a bow string.
