Hello David, This is an excellent video on how to schedule a live event. I followed you well all the way to the end. You do not say how to come back to the place to stream live at the scheduled time. Or I missed it. Is any other software required? I've been practicing several times. It does not always save my camera? Main question: how to I come back at the scheduled time to go live and be sure all of my settings have been maintained. Thank you so much!!! I've watched many videos, all involving additional software. You are super clear but I am missing a key point. Please help. Thank you!!!

What if you wanted to set up a number of different events like a racing championship consisting of different rounds but you also want to stream before the event and have it not mess up your scheduled ones, how would you do that? I am planning on streaming myself participating in a racing championship with several rounds and I want to set up all the live streams ready for it, but I also want to stream other games in between like Roblox etc. but not mess up the racing championship scheduled streams - how would I do that or is there not a way?

My question too! My first Live stream failed because I didn't know how to start the dang Live stream! I ended up creating an entirely new Live stream and people ended up missing it :(

One thing that is missing for me here is how to then start this scheduled live event. Especially if you schedule it on desktop and want to do live on mobile. Other than this useful video 👍

@@DavidWalshOnline Thanks for the great video. I set up an RTMP server that I can stream to and it sends my streams to youtube and Facebook. When I am testing it out it works great, and when I hit go live on youtube, it goes live. This morning I scheduled to go live on youtube and Facebook. I started my stream well in advance of the 10pm start time, and my Facebook stream started to stream automatically, but the youtube stream did not. I was streaming from a remote location with my handheld device so I could not hit the "go live" button, and I was assuming that youtube would start streaming my feed, but it didn't. Is there a way to get youtube to go live at the scheduled time if the stream is coming in, as it does on Facebook?

@@541Troy HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH A CLIENT TONIGHT - LIVE was scheduled and counted down, but there was no button on app or on computer to actually start the live stream. Very faulty.

I want to set up a free 24/7 RU-vid stream for a local community purpose. I would like to crowdsource the content for the 24/7 livestream by inviting contributors to post videos and playlists on RU-vid -- I would then need to be able to schedule the contributions to play in the RU-vid live stream. If I schedule multiple streams in advance which one will start when I send my stream (from OBS)? Is it according to the time a particular stream is scheduled, or would it take the first or most recently scheduled (neither of which would be useful). Also, what happens if I start streaming before my scheduled time? Would RU-vid create a new link & stream?

Great video, thank you! I really liked the tip about leaving comments ahead of time. I have done a handful of live streams so far and most go well. Although twice now I have tried going live and the "Go Live" button is missing and it is giving the the code info to enter into my stream interface. (which I do not use at this point). Why does it randomly do that? Is there a setting I am missing when scheduling the stream?

This video left me hanging on streaming from a stream key. After setting up a future event to stream using this videos instructions (as a webcam) I wasnt later able to upload using a stream key from OBS. So I embarrassingly was 21 min late to start streaming live and had to start a whole new event from scratch. Then had to get everyone a new link at the last minute disregarding quite a bit of advanced promotion. It was my first time and honestly RU-vid's live stream is way to limited in Hope's of 'simplifying'. This video helped me but wasnt quite enough. Hope everyone else has an easier time

Yeah, kind of weird how the video doesn't show you how to actually access the live stream once the scheduled time comes... making it pointless for me. We also stream via OBS so I don't think I'll be using this method.

There are a number of ways Bill... first one is to go to a RU-vid party thingie as they’re usually generous with their gifts. If you can’t do that, then search online. Google have an online store and you can buy various merchandise there. Next is to see if anyone (non Google/YT) is making knock off ones. Lastly, see if you know anyone crafty that could make one for you... Those are your options 😃
