@@claudioagmfilho Hey Claudio, first thanks for the continued support of my channel, and the answer to your question is, I do not know I'm afraid, because I would use ESYS or the official BMW tools, they are NOT user friendly though.
hey mike txs for viewing and your comment if you go to 1:47 you need to set local area network (LAN) IF it does ask you for an IP address, open a CMD prompt, type in ipconfig, and get your ip v4 address, something like 168.1.2.3 nd use that, I couldn't get anything else to work
ALSO make sure your LAN port is working, try connecting to your home network, router or office using the LAN, if it does work, then the ENET cable will work, if not, yourLAN port is kaput, if the LAN works then the cable is faulty, you also need to make sure ISTA works with the USB K CAN, if that works, GENERALLY ISTA is fine and it's your ENET cable
ALSO.. LOL, on mine, it's wouldnt go any further, than checking codes, it will freeze, I even tried another cable, could be my ista, but others have got it to work, I just use my k-can, that works fine
Hey im kinda late. My question: Does the ENET cable also work if your laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port but instead I use an adapter from USB -> Ethernet. So I plug the cable in the adapter. (My normal LAN works fine with the adapter).
Hey Brian, I don't see why not, all the adaptor is doing is taking it to an ethernet, it should, pls try and report back, a lot of new laptops DONT have LAN as majority of people have fast wifi
Hey Philip, in fact you can and I do !, Stay tuned, I have just finished a video (due to edit and upload today) where I use Ista on my f series using K can you can use both, you just need to change the settings as shown, between network and edibias (K can) I swap between them all the time
@@RonyIsaPony I've not done any programming, but from what I've heard there is NO reason you can't if it is able to speak to the DME for Ista to communicate then yes it can, hope this help
this particular setup, ie ENET and ISTA will work only with BMW "BASED/OWNED" so MINI and ROLLS ROYCE (yes ROLLS ROYCE is now owned by BMW) other than those 2 no
I'm afraid I dno't know, I only am aware only of the E, F & G series, pls join a BMW forum and ask the question there, Bimmerfest is a good place to start
I have Ista+ from Emanuels online. I can get the car to recognize following your steps. but I can not get past the part where it wants to populat. Do I not have a full version? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
18 330ix. Following your steps, I can select my car. I noticed the color circle is white. my car is blue. It starts to run. and just runs until it quits. it takes a while to quit. I can take a picture of the error message. I'll run it again. i found another version but couldn't get past the license and key. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to get this to work, so if you need something from me, lmk
@@lwjaa hey there, ok txs, so, when your at the bit you select your car, when you click that, (or select it really) the whole bar is selected, (from the video) go to the bottom make sure STANDARD ICOM is selected (with an X) then click set up connection... what this is doing is creating a IP address to connect to the car... Imagine your home laptop, when you connect to your wifi, you select the wifi and hit connect :) NOW.... at this point it should only take a minute, if it isnt that means that ISTA (laptop) can't connect to the car (WIFI) so that can be a number of things 1> faulty cable 2> Incorrectly configured software 3> Issue with the car... all of the above are over the pervue of a simple reply on youtube, recheck and if still a problem, I'm on bimmerfest, please post there and we can see if we can help further, HTH Adrian
Hoping the below information helps thanks for the view and positivity ! ISTA+ (AKA Rheingold or ISTA-D) 1. DIAGNOSTICS for All Vehicles 2. PROGRAMMING for F/I/G/RR & MINI, but requires an ICOM • ISTA-P 1. PROGRAMMING traditionally for all chassis, but F-/I-/G-series phased out with 3.63.5 release (March 2018). 2. ICOM Recommended. An ICOM emulator with K+DCAN or ENET can be used, but will NOT communicate over all protocols to program every ECU. 3. Replacement ECU's must be NEW
ty for the video. what if it ask for an IP ADDRESS what do we use?... also wen I try to anter the VIN manually it keeps saying vin is not valid and or not assigned... trying to use it on an F30
NP, no the VIN is not your IP address, if you follow exactly how I do it, your ista should detect your cable and connection and connection to the car, look at timestamp @3:17 if it diesnt, it "usually" is 169.254.11.8 / in my case, another person said it was 169.254.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0
@@AdrianJayeOnline I gave up on that version of ista. trying to download an older version. I could not get the version I had to run. and what I meant was when I try to enter the vin manually into ista, even that wouldnt work, not use the vin as the IP. appreciate the info. if I have any issues with this version will definetly be asking some question.
Hi Adrian, nice video, much appreciated on the info, just one question with ISTA where will I find the power windows module for 1 touch press as my passenger window is not going up automatically like all the others I have a BMW F36 GC and if you know it would be a once step instead of hunting for it. Any information would be appreciated, thanks.
Hey txs ! for sure, the FEM controls the front windows the the REM controls the rear ones. The actual module is located in the A-Pillar, front passenger side. If thats bust , a new one needs to be coded with a VIN
Hi Adrian thx for the info I've checked the buttons and both work well the error I get is 030095 I've tried googleing it but can't find what it means if I use ISTA to find the issue will it remove the performance modes I have ?
not sure what you mean by 3x ? this is the first post i'm seeing. you dont say which car, which year, which model, are you even talking about a BMW, pls be more specfic
Nice vid my friend, i was wondering how you lower the rear suspension using ista+ on bmw F11. I keep getting sensors and not actual height adjustment. Any ideas? Thanks
TBH I'm not sure, I've never done that, but I believe an ENET cable will work, as the ISTA software is the same, give it a try, wont hurt nothing and then respond back here
In Ista / Reingold, it uses databases. So basically the PROGRAM it self has different versions, but it is a BASE program. It relies on being updated by various databases. This connects to your car. IF the databases are wrong, you'll have a problem. I would suggest to make sure you have all the proper databases, you could go to Bimmerfest (BMW forum) and ask on the coding section, somone may have a link for the correct databases. Hope this helps
hi which end is not plugging in, the OBD end or the lan end, I've seen this on some computers, sometimes the lan cable or port is like flush and you need to pull it down, if it's the obd2 end, it is a simple push fit, should not be clipped in at all, does depend on the cable, let me know which end pls, if laptop end, give me the laptop model number pls
@@AdrianJayeOnline OBD end. It's tight for my 2017 X5 and my wife's 2020 X4M. This is the one I bought: OHP ENET Cable BMW OBD | ICOM E-SYS ISTA | Bootmod3 Bimmercode F- Series OBD2 | Germany Made Heavy Duty Cable
@@drzpapi413 ahh ok, so no way it should be tight, it's jiust a loose push fit, I do NOTICE that there is a little clip which is there, if you look at the bimmergeeks cable, (www.bimmergeeks.net/product-page/bimmergeeks-pro-cable) they clip is missing, sometimes that causes problems, also it can cause you not to be able to pull the cable out easily, do make sure the pins are not bent, should NOT be a tight fit, I can't really offer any support on this, due to the nature of youtube, I am on a site called bimmerfest, do post there and we can exchange screenshots etc. or do talk to the supplier
Adrian - all of the video is fine, but missing the most critical part: setting the COM port in the PC (the ISTA part is easy). The ethernet has to connect to COM1 and my laptop did not automatically "see" the ethernet connection - which under the IPV4 properties MUST BE SET to 169.254.1.1 and subnet mask of 255.255.0.0; so I have tried to create a "soft" COM1 part, but I still cannot complete identification on the Operations tab w/o getting the check cable or PAD error message. Ideas? Thanks!
HI Allan, thanks for the comments, I did not need to do anything, i.e. set any com port up, I simply plugged in the cable into my Ethernet port, exactly has shown, it detected the ethernet port and ISTA assigned 169.254.1.1 as you can see at timestamp @3.17 I have heard of the PAD error message, it's usually an issue with ista, where did you get it and what version ? There isnt enough room or ability on this channel to diagnose, I would suggest joining bimmerfest forum, where you can share screengrabs and we can have a proper conversation on line.
Hello can you share link where to download ISTA+ and buy this enet cable. i have 2011 BMW 328I xdrive. waned diagnognisis. Thank you for taking time to make this video
Hi Mayana, txs for your comments, a friend sent me the software and I got my cable from a local shop, I am in Canada, so I don't know how relevant my info would be, for the software join a BMW forum such as Bimmerfest or 1addicts, most ppl there have links for ista, and cable, just look up BMW obd2 enet cable, you can get them on ebay and also amazon, just google it up
not sure, it could be you don't have edibias set up, or it could be a wierd version or older version of Ista, even my older version had this, there is a program on line of you google for it, which would help, I can't remember what it's called now, also try asking the question on bimmerfest or 1addicts
hi there, the cable "itself" doesn't do anything, except interface with a program which will do that, you would need either Ista, Esys bimmerlink (or bimmercode)
pls go to bimmerfest or bimmerpost or 1addicts, take a look at the programming forums, or you can google ista bmw, the software is free, i don't have the links, thanks for watching, pls like and subscribe
Thanks for the video mate. I’m facing a problem trying to connect ista to my f22 via obd. My enet to obd cable is def working I’m getting the error: “The vehicle could not be identified successfully. Check vehicle interface and PAD active”. I’m not sure what to do as all the advices I could find do not work
ahh, yes... hmmm, I had that, do you know what version of ista your using, I can't remember where it is, if your stuck let me know, it could be you have an older version of ista, that happened to me I had to update mine, but let me know your version, I@ll check mine, it's on another laptop I "think" mine is 4.29
thanks for watching and commenting, not a very good description, not sure how I can help, this video has helped a lot of people please see the comments
